Cult Podcast #9 (Live Mix)

RC110 marks the return and collaboration of two label favourites, close friends and local legends – Tom Baker and Unknown Concept. A year in the making, we are proud to present you with the 2 track Ambidextrous EP, featuring the title record and the secondary, Nocturne.

When you look at the make up of any musical composition there are so many elements to consider. The instrumentation and space of your record, what specific pieces you decide to blend together, at what point they develop over the course of your arrangement and in what place across this spectrum do your elements either thrive on their own or shine all together.

Two artists being 'Ambidextrous' can be loosely translated to the concept of balance. The ability to be able to rely upon each element you piece together to speak to, relate and ultimately balance out your entire composition.

Tom Baker and Unknown Concept have drawn from their own unique styles and characteristics within their music to build a dark and ominous EP which will no doubt take you late in the night.

Nocturne is a low-slung progressive number, where you can feel the low end move you throughout the arrangement. A testament to both artists design and element selection.

Gidor and Badani have joined forces to create a colorful, pounding and diverse electronic delight, which features the amazing vocals of Idd Aziz from Kenya. This splendid original track holds within a perfect mixture of Afro and Melodic House, while displaying a pinch of Middle Eastern and hypnotic electronic sounds. On remix duty, we have the honor to have the one and only, our label boss - Laroz, with his elegant interpretation, which catapults the original with his powerful and sophisticated signature sound. Coming up next we have the pleasure to welcome MATARA on our label with his fine collaboration with Laroz. A carefully crafted peak time remix, which exhibits an uplifting base line and roaring electronic sounds, framed by Idd Aziz's epic vocals. Last but not least we are delighted to have Spaniol back on our label with his remix, which exhibits groovy yet slightly melancholic piano melodies and fresh electronic sounds, giving a jazzy twist to the original. Hamoon & LERM - land on Nightcolours Recordings with Mirage (Incl. Ian Ludvig and Philip Auster & Bumppo Remixes).

Two big originals, kicking of with 'Mirage', a spacious and tripped out deep groover, that has some fierce stabs for pure power, and then some middle eastern flavours to add a air of mystery to proceedings.

Ian Ludvig steps up on remix duties, famed for his works on Crosstown Rebels, RADIANT and Eleatics, he takes the energy and trippy vibes up a notch, as a fierce slab of intensity oozes out through this fine remix!

The second original is 'Ritual', a dreamier melodic deep viber, with a musical darker slant, yet still delivering some warmth.

And the final remix sees Frau Blau and MoBlack faves Philip Auster & Bumppo land on remix duties. This reworking is a mesmerising melodious affair, with its spacious and hazy vibes flowing throughout, while still keeping it solidly chunky.

An electronic music singer-songwriter? For many, those words do not fit together. For Monolink, they do. The multi-instrumentalist, singer, producer and performer from Berlin mixes the two genres into a hypnotic hybrid. "Father Ocean" is another great track from his debut album "AMNIOTIC" which was released in April.

After remixes by Patrice Bäumel ("Sirens") and Tale of Us ("Swallow"), Ben Böhmer takes over and delivers a quality remix. Ben is one of dance music’s brightest stars, 25 year old Berlin producer and live act has had a monumental year. Following releases on Anjunadeep and his own Ton Töpferei label, he's been named as one of Billboard Magazine’s `Ones To Watch`.

After a successful festival summer (Burning Man, Lightning in a Bottle, Fusion and many more), Monolink started his tour -  for the first time with three-headed band on the stage - mid November. All dates of that tour are completely sold out already.

'Spanish DJ and producer with 20+ years experience arrives at the wonderful Asymmetric Recordings with two tasty new cuts.

We start off with the title track 'Intergalactik', a collaboration with long time friend Bias. a brooding and hypnotic workout, with its tantalising melodics and solid mood setting bass. plenty of energy and drive and an air of seriousness shrouding proceedings.

Label boss Lonya steps up on remix duties, adding further sophistication. utilising the original elements but adding space and plenty of suspense, as some dramatics unfurl.

Ismael delivers a solo track here too 'Heda'. Continuing with his mystical productions techniques, here adding plenty of cool percussion and plenty of dirt. Tasty stuff!

To round things off Romania's Men-D picks up the pace, with a melodic peak time reworking, deep yet uplifting simultaneously.'
