Bursting into 2021 with the hope and positive energy we all need, Spectrum present an absolute juggernaut of a track...

Blinding by name. Blinding by nature. Fresh from major missives on the likes of Crosstown Rebels, Circus, Saved and Relief and heavyweight collaborations with the likes of Pete Tong, Alex Kennon makes his debut on Joris Voorn's Spectrum with this rolling juggernaut anthem that joins the dots between the 2000s and 2020s, house and techno, clubs and festivals and all shades of lockdown jadedness in between. It's his most personal release to date, and one that has already found favour with Kolsch, who made an early version a regular set favourite.

''Blinding Lights' is for me not just a record, it's a melting pot of emotions through music, a kind of time machine taking me from the early 2000's to today. I was overjoyed when Joris said he wanted the track for his own label Spectrum. His remix and take on the track will make this project very special, an intimate perspective from a great artist and musician like himself combined with a track I am very proud of.'

An inspired slab of emotional electronic music that nods in all directions and comes with that great sense of momentum and surprise, both Alex's original and Joris's remix hit spots we forgot existed. Lighter times are coming and music like this will be our soundtrack.

Created in his Ibiza studio during lockdown last year, with ‘The Interior Journey’, Argy continues his highly creative, ever-evolving ethos that’s underpinned by a love of house; it pulls off that deft, elusive trick of paying homage to the formative years of clubbing without losing any of its contemporary edge and, as if that weren’t enough, does so across a number of genres. 

Whether its echoes of Detroit in ‘Psychedelic Revival’; ‘A Course In Miracles’ Kraftwerk-esque influence; the Balearic love-letter that is ‘Ab Aeterno’ or the infectious groove of debut-single smash ‘Ketuvim’, which sounds like the best of New York hard and soul and Italy’s legendary UMM all wrapped into one, this is a body of work few could have produced and is a testament to Argy’s approach.

'Zoom Zoom Records has raced its way to 10 releases and as it hits double figures the quality remains high with label boss Legroni behind three fresh new tunes.

The label regular kicks off with Babe Tyk Tyk, which is a gritty and mechanical melodic house tune. The drums roll deep, filtered vocals are stitched in and cosmic keys rain down from above as the tune takes off. Be is a more silky and deep cut with more smooth drums and heady pads that bring richness and colour to the escapist grooves. Last of all, Taurus rounds out with molten keys and rubbery bass wrapped round well designed drums.

These are three more expressive tunes from this essential label.'
