DTR Presents: Found Signals No. 3 - Memo Rex

This debut EP from Koop (US) is a much welcomed return for Deep Tech Recordings to our Deep Tech / Minimal offerings. As soon as the record was sent our way for consideration we knew it was something special, and it is certainly another welcomed addition to our already growing library of compositions for the discerning selector.

The Beginning - This track is a groovy light foray into the opening leg of this amazing EP. This track kicks off with a light, airy, pad-stab slightly pushed back into the background. As the song progresses it builds on that idea but with echoed and bouncy chord stabs setting up a beautifully orchestrated atmosphere. After that, the addition of some tasteful stuttered vocal stabs helps evolve this track into something that will assuredly get the listener moving, and grooving. This is a track is a wonderful vibe to start the night with or to end the night. Also, providing ammunition for any afterhours after the club or festival lets out. 

Consciousness - Kicking off with a playful and groovy arpeggiated lead line, this track creates a feeling of euphoria straight away with its chord stabs and patient white noise build. Once the kick and bass line crank up, the party begins. Through the first build the track gently leads you into a lovely percussive marimba pattern with percussive elements from all angles pulling you in. Once you're pulled in, while your consciousness turns to eurphorics. If you listen you can hear the minutiae of rhythmic and percussive details put into this outstanding offering by Koop (US). This selection is something that would complement a sunset or sunrise set. Perhaps even a particular pier in San Diego, CA that people gather at as the sun makes its long trek across the Pacific Ocean.

Deep Relaxation - Setting the atmosphere straight away, (think perhaps a sunrise in the Costa Rican rainforest or even a Mediterranean sunset in Santorini), Deep Relaxation sets out and achieves it purpose almost immediately. The percussive elements leave nothing wanting, leaving an infectious and groovy beat to keep the dancer moving. This track almost expertly closes out this entire EP and takes the listener through the final stage of this immaculate EP composition. The keys and counter melodies perfectly compliment this final track selection. The 'relaxation' vocal acts as the final flavor and reminder of this journey and leaves the selector or listener with a jungle, forrest, or even desert vibe. A must have for your collection.

A fun, Tech-House track produced by Mr. Wright, with vocals from none other than San Diego based hair dresser the Beautician. This track samples a story told by the Beautician about a festival he once attended and how he and his identical twin brother were 'hated on' by the boyfriends of the ladies. This was due to their impeccable style and the attention they received from the girls attending this festival. All the twins could say was, 'Don't Be Mad'.

This track has already been festival tested, and is moving crowds with its catchy beat, dirty bass line, and the song's outrageous narrative.
