Therapy Session #009 - Guest: Aldo Conigliaro

Paula Cazenave is one of the most representative Spanish Techno female artists recognized abroad. 
 
Born in San Sebastian (Spain) in 1977, Paula has taken her record case up in the best clubs and festivals around Spain such as Florida 135, Macumba, Barraca, Row 14, Code-Fabrik, Industrial Copera, several editions of Klubbers day festival, Aquasella festival, Techno-Flash festival, Electrosonic festival, 4every1 festival, Dreambeach festival, The end of the world festival and many more events and festivals in Spain.

She has also performed at festivals and clubs in countries abroad such as France, Germany, Brazil, Bulgaria, Holland, England, Slovenia, Italy and even the exotic Indian Ocean islands highlighting the Awakenings Festival 2012 , Awakenings Female Hard Techno Edition 2013 (Amsterdam) and several editions of Eco Festival (Slovenia), among many other clubs and big events abroad.

Paula has shared stage with many international worldwide known artists as Carl Cox, Ben Sims, Paul Mac, Eric Sneo, Adam Beyer, Dave Clarke, Chris Liebing, Jeff Mills, The Advent, Joseph Capriati, Dj Murphy, Oscar Mulero, Pepo, Cristian Varela, Gayle San, Technasia, Dj Rush, Boriqua Tribez, Gaetano Parisio, Felix Kröcher, Chris Liberator, Dave the drummer, Patrik Skoog a.k.a. Agaric, Mark Broom, Fatima Hajji, Axel Karakasis and many more...

Her refined technique on the decks, exquisite taste and ability to fuse styles make their eclectic sets never go unnoticed by the crowd. Also with the ability of playing on 4 decks, Her style can encompass from the groovy Techno to dark and powerful Techno, depending on the event and always adapting to the needs of the crowd. 

We can also see Paula playing Tech-House under the name Paula Kasnav with a couple of releases already ins stores and many more to come in the near future.

Her role as a producer can boast of being one of the few pioneer women of Spain that has been in the Techno scene for almost a decade. From digital records to vinyls, Paula has managed to become Native Instruments Traktor's official DJ in Spain in 2011.

Therapy Session #015 - Guest: Paula Cazenave

Ukrainian DJ and Producer Spartaque has become a name known for raw quality on the international techno landscape. He’s been at it for many years, but got his first break in 2007 DJing at Ukraine’s Global Gathering festival, and has continued with this festival every year since. He has added other vital performances to his resume by performing at Love Parade, Kazantip, Mayday, and others. Spartaque supplements these performances and maintains the momentum by way of his award-winning Supreme podcast, in addition to numerous guest mixes on other podcasts and radio shows.

Spartaque started out in his teenage years composing and producing dance music, finally realizing as a young adult the lucrative skill of DJing his works. His first piece to release was on a Virus Music album in 2005. A decade later, he now has over 300 released tracks on more than # labels. His arsenal includes both original works and remixes for some of the top artists around the world.

Maintaining balance between industry and artisanship, Spartaque has played a key role in the creation and development of several record labels, IAMT being the most highly regarded in the world of techno music. He has been nominated and awarded for his many achievements in the past decade, proving that ever since his modest start in 2005, he has become an influential artist in the world of techno.

Therapy Session #017 - Guest: Spartaque

British techno duo consisting of Mohamed Medhat and Darren Brennan. International DJs, producers, promoters and owners of the leading techno label and events brand sub:Merged.

Whether its a gas factory in Amsterdam, a dark space in the middle of no where in Lisbon, or a slaughter house in Stockholm, their unique sound and superb mixing style cemented their reputation as two of the most talented artists around.

Mohamed is mostly known for his productions, unique live sets and playing the longest non-stop DJ set in history (176 hours). The Egyptian born UK national started his career back in 1993 when he fell in love with house & techno. A simple gift of a 2 channel mixer and turntables were the foundation of great things to come. First gig at a school party then there was no turning back. From New York to Russia, Dubai to Spain, Egypt to Scotland his unique sound which can only be described as very deep, often dark and always sexy makes the crowds sweat every time. As well as headlining events all over the place he has graced the stage alongside almost every known name in the electronic music world such as Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Sasha, Carl Cox and Dave Clarke to name a few. On the music production side of things he has more than 70 original releases and 20 remixes under his belt in different sub genres of house & techno under many names. His tracks have gained great support from the likes of Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Paul Oakenfold, Wally Lopez, Paul Van Dyk, DJ Fresh, Slam, Suzy Solar, Kris O Neil, Markus Schulz and many more.

Growing up in a small town near the Scottish capital, Darren's interest in music was very clear from an early age. Spending most of his time learning the craft from his older brother.rather than playing football like the other kids. He progressed really well so fast, that he became one of the youngest to spin the decks in Scotland. In the late 90's, his passion led him to move to the Midlands, in the heart of the underground scene, where artists like John Digweed, Sasha and many more made their names. During that time, he mastered his skills and learned everything he needed to know about the industry. A few years later, he moved back to his home land with a ton of knowledge and experience. The result is a 25 year career in the music business.

In 2014, both artists met for the first time and it was crystal clear that they both share the same passion about music, and the same interest to change things around and make a difference in the scene. All this led to not only friendship, but a full time collaboration and partnership. Later that year, sub:Merged was born, and there was no looking back for both artists. From working with the best artists of the genre, to organising top events, releasing high quality music and travelling the world. In 2015 they decided to join forces and become an artist duo focusing all their efforts into it along with running their sub:Merged brand.

After only one month into this collaboration, they signed many tracks to some of the best labels in the world including Amazing Records, Funk'n Deep, Minds Of Sin, Distortus Music, Format Recordings and many more.

Their music is already gaining huge support from the likes of Nicole Moudaber, Richie Hawtin, Gregor Treshor, Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati, Paco Osuna, Marco Bailey, Anthony Pappa and Mark Antonio just to name a few.

There is no doubt that the future is bright for these very talented guys, as they continue to prove their abilities every time, with 100% passion, full dedication and absolute love to everything they do.

Greek techno maestro Kostas Maskalides has emerged as a master craftsman when it comes to modern dance music production. 

Known for his ability to create chaos on any dance-floor, he has been captivating audiences across Europe by showcasing futuristic cutting-edge electronic music performances that set him apart from anything ordinary. 

It’s in the studio however where the real magic happens and the result of countless hours of work invested to tailor and master his own sound-craft which led him to produce pristine examples of brilliantly executed techno in the form of original production or remix. 
With a background of 20 years experience in the field of sound engineering Kostas began to produce in 2010.

Deep Therapy Records' well earned reputation for techno releases continues with the latest release from Highestpoint. Their track Argon blends deep and thick synth hooks with crisp drums. It's tightly woven that will definitely slay on big systems and in dark underground dance floors alike. Remixed by Steam Shape, the track takes a more hard approach with a punching kick, and repetitive shots, it will sure do some damage on the dance floor.

[DTR024] Highestpoint - Argon (Steam Shape Remix) [PREVIEW]

'Against The Melody' brings his signature sound for the first time to Deep Therapy Records with a two tracker EP accompanied by two remixes that are just as captivating as the originals. First up is 'Bells In The Night', with biting claps, a shuffling bassline, and the rising and falling synth line, moving in and out of the mix brings a disorienting presence, underpinned by a driving, entrancing bell rhythm. 'Invasion' - a lean, mean and tough to the bone piece of techno with a driving, powerful edge. Growling, snarling synths ripping through the groove producing an intense vibe. Dok&Martin and Stoked join in remixing the tracks, adding their own signature vibe to the release, and will likely get as much attention as the originals. This is techno at its best.

Therapy Session #040 - Guest: Karim Alkhayat

Deep Therapy Records latest release is from Aran Burn and Rian Wøød who have previously collaborated on Sasha Carassi's Phobiq, Kuda Audio and Steve Mulder's Orange Recordings.

Also working as solo artists, Aran Burn is an Italian artist who has also featured on Naked Lunch, Dolma and Gastspiel Records. Rian Wøød also has roots in Italy, and working in a solo capacity, he has contributed music to Frankyeffe's Riot Recordings amongst others.

Kickstarting proceedings 'The Message' has a pulsating acid-line combined with thrashing percussion and the intimate tones of the namesake vocal. Adding to the EP's brooding atmosphere and building suspense, the urgency of 'Reflection' lifts the ferocity up a gear.

[DTR031] Aran Burn, Rian Wood - The Message (Original Mix)

Deep Therapy is a peak time techno label with a style that blends thundering percussion with intense synth riffs, and the new release features two tracks by Karim Alkhayat who has collaborated separately with Danny Wabbit plus Mesbah Al Sakka.

Dubai based, Karim Alkhayat makes is return back on Deep Therapy having last featured on the label in 2019, and his pounding tracks have also been released via other trend setting labels such as The YellowHeads’ Reload Black Label.

Danny Wabbit is a Turkish producer and regular collaborator with Karim Alkhayat. Danny has also released solo tracks on high-flying techno labels like Phobos and Ramon Tapia's Say What? imprint.

Mesbah Al Sakka is a Dutch producer who has previously worked with Karim Alkhayat for a release on White Line Music, but has also released many solo tracks on the same label.

The release opens with “Judas” made by Karim Alkhayat and Danny Wabbit, which blends sinister melodies plus stabbing pads with dark atmospherics and rolling percussion. “Higher Dimension” is the collaboration with Mesbah Al Sakka plus Karim Alkhayat, and it’s a much deeper cut with hypnotic synths and melodic groove layered over tough percussion.

StoKed returns on Deep Therapy with a 2-tracker heavy hitter EP 'Deeper Passion' including a superb remix by Irish duo Loco & Jam who are best known for their works on labels like Drumcode and Tronic to name a few.

'Deeper Passion' opens the release with pitched tom drums, fizzing hi-hats and a pounding kick drum at the heart of its full throttle groove. Throwing in a healthy dollop of acid and some twisted vocals, it has all the ingredients needed to set the dance floor alight in a frenzy of peak time excitement.

Loco & Jam take a stripped back approach to their remix of 'Deeper Passion' that focuses on the original's twisted vocal. Adding additional atmospherics and other hypnotic elements it's still got the solid foundation needed to rock the dance floor, but does it in a more understated way than the ecstasy of the in your face original.

Closing the release is the gritty groove of the second original titled 'The People' taking its name from the vocal sample. Slowly ramping up the tension with a series of drops that draw focus to the hard-hitting bottom end and kick drum, the track hits its peak with the euphoria introduced in the main break that morphs to become sinister and more intense as things unfold.
