Originally commissioned as incidental cues for a short film by Helsinki based designer Paola Suhonen, Intiaani Kesä (Indian Summer) by multi-instrumentalist Jane Weaver has since grown into a fully formed project lending itself to a number of further cinematic productions and creative applications . Appearing alongside Demdike Stare and Brigitte Fontaine in the vampire film Kiss Of The Damned by Xan (daughter of John) Cassevetes and recut and performed as an alternative rescore to Eiichi Yamamoto's Belladonna Of Sadness for various live performances, this set of well-crafted themes takes it's brazen influences of Nicolai, Dell'Orso, Alessandroni and Daniella Casa back to their purest analog recording origins with startling effect. Recorded in an old vicarage near the Peak District, housing a unique analogue experimental studio, Intiaani Kesä hears Weaver deploy a wide range of instruments including tubular bells, bowed guitars, vintage Goblinised Roland string synths, detuned pianos, church bells, Roland guitar synths, harpsichords and ex-Radiophonic Workshop custom equipment as accompaniment to wordless and onomatopoeic chorale vocals recorded on valve microphones with space echo, sonic room reverbs and bespoke experimental tape delays. Made in a disciplined and unforgiving environment without modern technological shortcuts these self-initiated creative research prototypes were not initially intended for commercial release but are thankfully gathered here as songs in there own right independent of context.

The second EP from Jack Dice sees a huge leap in ambition for the project, a 5 track session that’s more addictive, direct and heady than its predecessor.
‘Sip Paint’ centres around ‘Stash’s Theme’ featuring rapper and producer Stash Marina, a track that deploys crisp triplets and saturated production straddling mainstream signatures on the one hand and a world of analogue/deviant recording techniques on the other. It’s an odd, hyper-addictive track - available here in both vocal and instrumental versions.
‘Low Glo’, ‘Kerosene’ and ‘Radium Dial’ are more subdued and immersive; you could draw lines straight through the material here to a number of different projects Twells has been involved with through the last decade, though he seems to benefit immeasurably from Chambliss’ presence. The pair find a perfect balance between their respective disciplines, resulting in an EP that at different points throws stylistic references to everything from Prince’s Black Album to The Art of Noise, Drake, Philip Jeck and Evian Christ’s DUGA 3 sessions - without ever sounding overworked or too knowing, a feat in itself.

What is intersectionality? 
it's an EP where topics as loss, confrontation, despair and sorrow are spoken though. Each track is it's own unique place without going far beyond the album's main theme.
The vocals differ from operatic highs to lows, to simple and intimate.

You are meant to interpret what loss is about (for your personal view) through the album, and the experience of going through the stages: Confrontation, Endless Despair, Anxiety, Acceptance and Growth.

Pearl City exists in an other worldly place where melancholic pop music reigns supreme and the future’s not so desolate. Formed by duo Nick & Greta in Manchester, their debut track 'Flames' is the opening portal for a parallel world they've created, and a temporary respite from the industrial and politically oppressed world that surrounds them; "Pearl City to us is otherworldly - a fantasy place. The music takes us to an alternative realm where we can escape from reality, making our own soundscapes for them to occur there" state Nick & Greta.

Pieced together from a range of live instrumentation, studio trickery, field recordings, obscure instruments (including the Guzheng and Steel Pan), alongside a more typical combo of synthesisers, effects units and drum machines, their take on avant-pop dips between glacial vocal arrangements, electronic pulses and phantom echoes. It recasts a love for Bjørk, Arca and dystopian anime flicks into a mould that's entirely it's own - future pop music for a new virtual world.
