Beginning her creative journey in formative years with classical music and dance training, Sophia would later become engulfed by electronic rhythm. Tbilisi born and internationally bred, Saze formed a foundation to pierce deeper into these sounds by first launching her party and later label in Brooklyn – Dusk & Haze. Saze’s full circle home-run came after years of touring, when she found a nest in a city at the core of her upbringing, Philly. As a producer, her musical versatility draws from a wide array of shapes and expressions, from electro to krautrock, ambient to industrial, and acid to garage - embracing the drifting range in the waves of emotional fluidity, and plunging into higher tides of fathomless feeling, possibility.

Soma Records’ electro sub-label, Avoidant Records assemble a fresh rogue squadron for another massive compilation as 16 electro warriors take on the ‘Dark Planet’.

After the impact of last year's huge ‘Defend Your Planet’ VA, Avoidant immediately set about recruiting another incredible group of artists that represent the Glasgow based label’s output. ‘Dark Planet’ brings together established, classic and up and coming producers who take their cues from the Detroit and European schools of electro. Gathered from across the planet - from Australia, The Netherlands, the USA and UK - the compilation sound is geared up for the dancefloor.

The breaks influenced ‘Wish You’d Leave’ from Three Faces Of Eve opens with a dark and ominous vibe before the legendary DJ Godfather drops a stripped, funk laced bomb on ‘It’s Only Detroit’. The UK’s Steve Allman takes things ‘Next Level’ with some straight up twisted and aggressive beats as Dutch wizard Versalife leans on more sci-fi elements with his ‘Shift Levels’. Having already appeared on a previous label VA, another Dutch connection in the form of Helsmoortel delivers some heavy rocking old skool vibes as a more emotive approach is taken by Flug on ‘Just You’.

Assembler Code steps up for Avoidant once more with some hyper production skills on the mutant bass styled ‘Architects’. Detroit’s own Blaktony means business with the direct and functional ‘Produkt’ before The Exaltics bring things down with the deep and sweeping ‘One Direct Line’. The enigmatic VRIL sets up the back end of the compilation nicely with his signature sound soaking up snappy percussive beats. Huge bass waves direct from The Lord Of The Isles on ‘Approach & Identify’ glide across dubbed out percussion and effective melodies. PARAND’s ‘Archangel’ is a dark and gnarly bass driven affair while Australia’s own 88756 makes your ‘Fine Dining Experience’ a rather forbidding one.

Glasgow based duo, Co-Accused make a welcome debut on Avoidant with the spatial and techno edged ‘Abduction’. Another Glasgow based artist, the mysterious Monk returns with the delicately crafted ‘Simulation Theory’; a pulsating and ethereal journey before the UK’s Darkmode closes out the compilation with an ode to early UK sounds on ‘Dr Bloodmoney’.

The compilation will be released on digital platforms on 22nd November this year, with a four track vinyl sampler to follow in early 2022 featuring a vinyl only exclusive Dub Mix of Flug’s contribution to the release.

The label will cover different styles of intelligent electronic music, focusing on techno in the first year. At the beginning there will be released music by great artists who had performances at Propaganda club in past. More artists will be involved and more excellent music will be released over time.

Datawave delivers a tune that keeps the atmospheric idea of the label at heart but experiments with driving rhythms and acid lines.

For its second release, Russian label Analog Concept brings you four powerful and floor-ready electro tracks from rising stars in a dedicated genre; Starting with our favourite Liverpool producer nowadays – Reedale Rise and his frisky tune Borderland that can easily work out at 5 am as well as at 5 pm. Joyful and broken rhythm promises it will shake your body properly. Simon has been seen on labels like Frustrated Funk, 20:20 Vision, Kondi etc. The next in line is Nullptr from the east side of the Island. Label boss of d-tached records and co-promoter of Cambridge-based electro night Motherchip Connexion. Coming from labels such as Detroit Underground and CPU Records it is expected this guy brings only premium sounds. He delivers a strong and vibrant track that you cannot remain indifferent to. Side B is reserved for a Belgian producer know by the name of Datawave with a catalog of finest releases in the last few years on labels like AC Records, Vortex Traks, Fundamental Records, Natural Sciences and the Croatian producer Ivna Ji with British label Brokntoys behind her. Datawave delivers a tune that keeps the atmospheric idea of the label at heart but experiments with driving rhythms and acid lines. Last but not least is Ivna's track Alpha Dial, composition that isn’t focused on dancefloors but instead entices the listener into a slowly progressing story, heavily loaded with dreamy synth lines.

     Berlin-based, Dutch-born Steffi possesses near-boundless prowess. As a DJ, she’s proved her effortless mastery of disco, house, electro, and techno; as helm of labels Klakson and Dolly, she’s long maintained her status as tastemaker; as a producer, she has graced us with three solo LPs and numerous 12”s. Dark Entries is now honored to unveil the debut of her project Crushed Soul, a moniker she had used only once in 2013 for an Ostgut Ton compilation track. The mutual esteem of Steffi and DE has been previously fruitful, with Steffi providing a remix for Cute Heels’ 2016 EP on DE, but this is their first full-length collaboration.
	The Family of Waves EP represents both familiar and novel pastures for Steffi. While her love of electro and classic Detroit techno have been oft-evident, here we witness the darker shades of new wave and industrial creep to the forefront. This turn for the twisted feels not just natural, but predestined, an inevitable succumbing to morbid forces. But Steffi also views Family as “a playful association...a mix of my past and new modern waves". There is a kernel of whimsy, even joy, lurking within the record’s temporal jumblings. The A-side opens with “Gravitational Field”, which juxtaposes its gnarled bassline with unearthly percussives and a recurrent resonant gong. The wild sonic palette speaks Steffi’s singular voice. “Scalar Property” continues the paranoid propulsion with an unhealthy dose of what can only be described as Metroid-funk, its staccato bass jabs interlaced with ghastly vocal pads. The B-side contains a diptych of slower tracks that juggle reference points both retro and futurist. In “Family of Waves”, a churning EBM-esque bassline battles acerbic yelps. On this track, the collision of past and present is most pronounced, as if A Split Second were covering Mike Parker. “Diffusion of Heat” closes the EP with what feels like a perfect synthesis of Steffi’s musical passions: funky, warbling chord stabs; intricate rhythmic diversions; the ecstasy of repetition. Here, disco, new wave, and techno marry harmoniously, if only to inform us of the disharmony of our present.
	All songs have been mastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. The sleeve and accompanying postcard were designed by Eloise Leigh using video art stills by Goldenliustra.

Delta Funktionen touches homebase with a heavy double pack on Deeptrax Records: the label that originates from the recordstore he worked at before his international DJ career kicked off. On this double pack he presents a collection of tracks that were made between 2010 and 2020. These tracks never seemed to fit the more conceptual records DF put out, but they have been regular outfits in his DJ sets and always pleased dancefloors around the globe. A true honor for both the label and artist to finally team up and release some of the most playful house and techno cuts Delta Funktionen has produced over the years!
