But despite the apparent desolation, the walls themselves seem to pulsate, resonating with a hidden energy.

He can't see them, but he can feel them, these whispers in the city's foundations. "There's life here, I'm convinced of it," he murmurs, his voice carried by the echo-laden breeze.
