This a genuine boo-song, nothing more and nothing less. I began composing the music for this song in May of 2014, and it was finally given some vocals on this last Winter Solstice, 2015. I planned to have this out a bit sooner, but I've been bogged down by being me (constant struggle... grr).

Anyways, here it is, and here are the lyrics in case they don't sound intelligible because of the vocoder.

Gear:
I'll elaborate on this later, but it's kind of a typical mix for me.
-Drums are programmed by me, using Addictive Drums, sending individual outs for each send so I have 100% control over processing. 
-Two guitars are used with copious amounts of delay, essentially being used like synth pads.
-There's also some guitar picking/plucking parts that help with the rhythm.
-Bass is a patch from Spectrasonics Omnisphere.
-Vertigo VSC-2, Millenia TCL-2 and Elysia Mpressor used for compression.
-Ableton's vocoder was used for vocoded bits.
-Mastered to ~-1dBFS, using Brainworx Digital V2 EQ, Brainworx XL V2 mastering limiter, and of course the obligatory Vertigo VSM-3 for 2nd and 3rd-order harmonic generation.

The voices you hear were recorded candidly on my phone while my boo and I were fabric shopping at World Textile in Sacramento, California. They were then run through the Granulator (a Max4Live device) and tweaked to perfection. Thanks little kids that happened to be running around in the store <3

Been sitting on way too many tracks for way too long, so I'm in a fury to get them done and released. This stuff is experimental too, so not sure why I thought I could actually even make something 'perfect' in the experimental genre. 

Anyways, it's named after my Boo, and its moody, like me.

Little Boo Peeps (April 30, 2017)

This is one of the (sadly) few tracks i've made in a short span of time, but this will soon be the norm. I have to start hating myself a bit less (what a pain, i know) in order to want to keep frequently working on music and releasing. 

the lyrics are sparse and extremely repetitive, but that's how i want it. i recorded vocals in my bedroom with no treatment, and i'm okay with that. dead-dry vocals are too pro for me, i wont have it. i want the randomness; i dont need to control everything. 

also, this song captures a bit more of my electronic-grunge feel than some of my other tracks. my style is much more than i've represented with previous music, so i'm going to stop being such a shitbutt and keep on that. 

thanks to independent artists everywhere for keeping non-commercial art alive and not succumbing to typical over-polished pop shit. fuck.

Deer In The Garden - Experiential

This track is full of pianos, effected guitar and some pretty big drums. Candid conversation samples were recorded at International Textile in Sacramento, California. Had a lot of fun with this one, and cemented more of my mixing and mastering technique. All is well in the garden *bows*

Made in Ableton Live 9, using all Ableton gear except for Softubes' Transient Shaper. Not that any of that matters, just sayin'; pretty good results for stock plugs *peace*

Hallo/Hej! My name is Jonathan, and I make electronic music. It's melodic (sometimes symphonic), synth-tacular, experimental, glitchy, dooming, heartfelt, playful, all that is life in electronic music. I know no bounds, for better or worse.

Interesting bit of trivia; The year I was born, Microsoft released Windows 1.0, and the Nintendo NES came to America (1985).  I've spent much of my life playing video games and listening to and making music (guitar, singing, drums); so the two naturally coalesced into electronic music sometime in the mid-late 2000's.
