Interlude:
  Originally this was meant to be one of nine songs for a space-shooter game based on the classic game "Gradius". The codename for my conversion was, "Gradius X". Then I got an awesome idea to extend the "level" song, drive it a bit into the direction of a themesong. Reworked, rewritten, dribbled forth and back, this is the final result of two years experimenting : one of nine tunes.

I started to build the tune from various of ideas, sounds, internal recreations and influences from composers like Vangelis, Jarre and Mike Oldfiled. Most of the background sounds(strings and pads) are multiple sessions of Kontakt, where I've picked the honey from the flowers such as Lumina, PinkNoise, Ace2, Omnisphere and RetroMachine MK2. To add some texture to the stings and pads I experimented with my 8x 8580SID "SIDBOX", to get some arpeggios, and extra crisp over there. But also to go back to my own roots where it all started at. The lead and additional effects were modelled in Reaktor using my own synthmodel. The base done with a Waldorf Pulse2. And the drums were modelled with a Korg ER-1, sampled, arranged and edited inside Kontakt.
All this was brewed into FL-Studio, where I also made all the mixning and mastering.

Miracle Mirage

Background: This was originally written for "Mojo" disk4, released at X-2023.
All started a late night with two weapons "TB-303" and "TR-8S", controlled via two chained SQ-1. As the skeleton took off I hooked up a Volca Sampler (loaded with custom sounds from 8-bit machines) and started to add more twists and bits to the song. My ol' trusty Neutron came in to play later on to add more sounds and that's how the patch work began, and also when I added a BSP to control the whole shebang.
When that was done, I started to sketch up the song on paper(yes I am oldschool), designed the instruments and finally oiled up the tracker to start the real work :)
The first release was a bit slim-down, due memory restrictions and the need of trigger data. So it was very much "give and go".

Now, here is the "Salted Edition", done the way I always wanted it to be. I decided to release it as I celebrate two years in Pretzel Logic!

This track was originally written for my video/animation at Revision 2025. Since I was happy with the track I thought it should be in the stream compo too, but the tune got pre-selected. Here is "Lambda" in its full length and amplitude. Both hardware and soft -synth has been used to make this song.

2010 Maniacs of Noise

When I heard this lovely C-64 chiptune back in May I knew this was about to be one of my new favorite songs ever composed and the song took a place in my soul. After a month of work this is my touch of this lovely song composed by Thomas "Drax" Mogensen / Maniacs of Noise".
The massive chords and distinct bassline blends up to a spring-pop sweet happy melody, that jumps up and down the scales in lovely harmony.
I added drums, chords and took the lead quite on, to get it as authentic as possible. The lead instrument is made using the latest VSTi tech using Helix2.

Caught in the middle (Summer Edition)

"Monochromatic Neon Lights", is my tribute to two of my favorite composers who layered the ground for my landscape in the world of music. Vangelis, Jarre, both kings who's always inspired me since an early age. The city life late at night when everyone are asleep added a melancholy emotion to this song, somehow reflects the amazing music Jóhann Jóhannsson wrote. This is my contribution to "Sound of SceneSat Vol.4"

Background:
This started as a bit of an experiment. How to get an old feeling into a modern piano.
The Piano is driven through an EQ to emphasize some ranges, as well as deEQ some of the more unwanted frequencies. The signal from Left and Right are sent to a tapedeck and recorded. Carefully I  took out the tapemass to let it hang naked in the cold winter over night and also get that sunburst. To decay the tape, I also put some heat from a candle and stretched it just a bit. Mounted back into the tapedeck and sent to another tapedeck(working as an insert effect). To get some details and warmth all this was sent to a compressor and an impulse reverb.
