Last Friday was the first time I heard LBD, and honestly I didn't understand the EP... but then I felt it deeply and started working on a remix the very next day. I finished it just a couple of days ago.
This track is the result of using quite unusual production methods (at least for me), destructive and strange workflows. I have never written music so quickly and effortlessly.
I would like to express my deep gratitude to @quok for his music. Also I'm going on a small artistic break - I am changing more and more as a musician and I need time to rethink the creative process, so please be patient if I won't be releasing anything for months :)

В прошлую пятницу я впервые услышал LBD, и, честно, не понял его... но потом прочувствовал и начал делать ремикс на следующий день. Закончил его буквально пару дней назад.
Этот трек - результат использования довольно неординарных для меня способов продакшена, деструктивных и странных воркфлоу - я ещё никогда не писал музыку так быстро и просто.
Также хочется выразить огромную благодарность @quok за его музыку и поставить некую запятую в своем пути - я всё больше меняюсь как музыкант и мне нужно время на переосмысление творческого процесса, так что не судите строго за долгие месяцы без релизов)))

I was speechless when I first heard BABii's album called "MiiRROR" back in July. Two weeks later, remix of the first track called "DRiiFT" was ready. This time I tried to implement something open, huge and chaotic, but at the same time not devoid of comfort and orderliness. I hope that I did it.

One can overhear live music comprised of tropical birdsongs, bright keyboard melodies, fuzzy funk bass lines, and the most talented island instrumentalists.  The ground beneath our feet distorts and wobbles away into a elusive mirage, as the jubilant display enraptures our senses and serves as a transformative journe.  All that remains is the fading taste of some pleasant dreamlike memory gone too soon.

Starting as fun, the idea of remixing "21.12.2012" ended with the fact that we built a small, but very close-knit and talented community of people united by love for @sorrowgarage 's music. My reinterpretation is part of a huge compilation of several dozen tracks, showing all the diversity and creativity of those who took part and how important Joe's music (and this particular tune) is for all of us.

Slow and melancholic, the EP opens with a series of ringing solitary major chords accompanied with a soothing ambiance. The section is nigh-ethereal and calming, yet not devoid of tension: as the composition progresses, the mesmerising venom of diatonic shapes starts to trickle out. The sense of unease during the mid-part is further reinforced by the ghostly synths soaring over, fluidly and seamlessly returning to serenity of the beginning now represented by the plucking of the guitar. Poignant and pensive, the section slowly fades away, ending with a number of hopeful piano chords.

The thin veneer of calmness at the end of the preceding section disappears as the composition relapses into a psychedelic and dark conflation of disjointed reminiscences and sensations. The evanescent flux of unease, dynamically emphasised by the percussion, gets progressively less articulate and devolves into a distorted landscape of fear and apprehension. The dysphoria eventually ceases, gradually transitioning into an interlude signifying the end of the nightmare.

Deceptively soothing, this part reflects temporary salvation from the pangs of grief and fear that still loom at the back of the consciousness. It is tranquil but ominous, warm and redolent of the happy days of the past, ye demonstrating the inability to escape from the chilling realities of the present. The section offers a reprieve from the unabating onslaught of the internal struggle, which is still evident despite the earnest efforts to leave it behind.

Sekaikei is an ill-defined term, which, in the context of the composition, describes the realisation of the exceeding importance of one’s own internal experiences as opposed to the outside apocalypse. This section may be separated into two parts - the first depicts escapism, while the second communicates the horror of  how far one has fallen. It smolders like embers, giving off the last remnants of heat and light before being snuffed out. The woe that stretches beyond the realm of today's challenge — it is the crippling internal struggle, the tragedy of one.

As another wave of dysphoria passes by, hopelessness settles in. Here and there emerge clusters of familiar sounds from the previous parts, but this time they carry no weight - all will to struggle or rationalise the occurring events is lost. The dreary environment starts to pull one in and engulf them — the cycle shall repeat — back to the intro.

2020 was one of the hardest years for all of us… but for me personally it was the most special one - I am very happy with everything that happened in my life during this period.

Shout out to @kursauk for one of the best neurohop tunes of all time, it was an honor to remix it, even without stems - much more difficult and interesting than I thought at first.

This year I've improved as producer and as person, met a lot of great people, grown up, and most importantly, done it all with you <3
