Dam Swindle's Wanderist returns to Aus Music with club-ready three tracker, Imagine 

The Dutchman's third EP for the label blends breakbeats and house rhythms into fulsome electronic soundscapes  

Wanderist is the solo project of Maarten Smeets, half of the influential Dam Swindle duo. With that project and their Heist Recordings label, Smeets has spent the last decade-plus touring the world's best clubs and festivals and cooking up timeless house sounds across a wide spectrum of sub-genres. Earlier this year, they dropped their third full-length Open, which was a personal deep dive into a range of melancholic, ethereal sounds that often veered away from the dance floor and into lush home-listening. 

This new EP finds Smeets back in club mode and tapping into personal inspirations, from dreamy electro to dubby techno. Following his previous two outings on this label in 2020 and 2021 - which picked up support across the board from tastemakers like Len Faki, Anastasia Kristensen, Josh Wink and Luke Slater plus plays on BBC Radio 1, Ibiza Sonica and many more - he taps into fresh rhythms and a futuristic energy that moves body and mind. 

Opener 'Imagine' has shimmering synth work bringing scale to crisp, well-programmed broken beats. Careful, tender synth sequences layer in unresolved suspense while refracted vocal fragments and glitchy textures push into an otherworldly space. 'Wait' is a speedy cut built on deft but kinetic broken beats with a free-roaming bassline leading up to the stars. It's an immersive sound with lush layers of synths and cascading arps all dragging you into their orbit. 'Just a Groove' maintains the momentum with sparkling chords and urgent, cantering drums. Progressive melodies glow while the most subtle of trance chords hint at old school hands-in-the-air euphoria.

Michael Mayer, aka Mr. Lava Lava asked a bunch of his absolute favourite artists to have a go at some of the tracks from his recent album 'The Floor Is Lava'. First up is Barcelona's brightest flame, RAXON, who is melting 'Brainwave 2.0' into a stompin fun-filled primetime banger. Longtime collaborator DAVE DK is a masterful producer and remixer that appears regularly on Pampa and Kompakt. His take on 'The Solution' feels like a road trip to paradise and back. Montreal's PRIORI is one of the hottest names in showbiz right now. His ability to bridge genres and create pristine sound designs is fully on display in his remix for 'The Solution'. Last but not least, the legend that is SEBASTIAN MULLAERT took a moment off from his revered Circle Of Live jams to transform the albums deepest cut 'Ardor' into an extraordinary musical journey. Originally "Back in the Days" released in 2004 on Resopal Schallware marked Tigerskin as a torchbearer for pop-oriented groovy House, reviving the raw energy of early 90s bleeps, swung beats, and untamed dance floor spirit but transforming it with the technical possibilities of the early 00s into his trademark romantic vision.

From the pulse of “Dance Now” to the cringey charm of “Party in My Car,” Tigerskin proved that Back in the Days was more than a look backward - it was a bridge between era's: a reminder that the roots of club culture still grow, still breathe, still move people.

Two decades on, this re‑release doesn’t just bring back nostalgia - it reminds us that reminiscing every once in a while can push creativity. The album and a few EPs around it were the start of a pretty different approaches to club music for Tigerskin, that led to several big tracks and remixes, some now considered to be classics by many. 

The three formerly unreleased and slightly more club-oriented bonus tracks had been recorded the same year but were amongst many that didn’t make it to the album.

Exploited Club welcome in power duo EMJIE and Emma B who bounce out 3 classy club cuts packed with groove, energy and panache.

Hailing from Brussels, EMJIE is catching heavy acclaim off the back of records for Get Physical and Yes Yes Yes, as well as a recent B2B with Diplo, a radioshow for Keinemusik and bill-sharing with the likes of Dixon, LP Giobbi and Roman Fluegel. The New York-born, New Jersey-based Avision lands on Radio Slave’s Rekids sublabel REK’D for the first time with the ‘Get Down’ EP, arriving 14th November 2025. The title track emanates pure NYC soul, pairing uplifting vocals with euphoric energy, while ‘Papi’ moves into deeper territory, its stripped-back groove and shadowy stabs giving way to flickers of funky, jazz-tinged warmth.

Matt Edwards launched REK’D in October 2024 to release no-nonsense house music without the limitations of parent label Rekids. It has since become a home for dancefloor-focused EPs from artists including St. David, Uncertain, James Juke, James Curd, Ketiov, and more.
