The dub techno mix played as they drove down the highway while the sun rose over, casting a warm glow around them. Everything merged with the hum of the engine and the rush of the wind through the open windows, creating a seamless blend of sounds that carried them forward.

As the sun set, a feeling of joy spread through them. The dub techno mix had complemented the moment, infusing the atmosphere that resonated deep within. They were on a journey through the intangible realms of sound and time.

Number 7 of our OYE Podcast Series is coming from a well-known figure in the dub techno music industry. We are very happy to have him delivering a mix for us. Thanks Kenneth Christiansen
for your recording, which includes a lot of new upcoming stuff and some unreleased tracks.

Kenneth is the owner of Echocord Records one of the most relevant dub techno labels, which has recently celebrated 20 years of activity. He is also running the Echocord sublabel Echocord Colour, and the label and project Pattern Repeat with his long-time friend Resoe. 

Since the late 1990s, Kenneth has frequently been spinning at Tresor in Berlin and other popular clubs and festivals all over Europe. His career in the genre dates back to his time spent working in record stores, running clubs and festivals in his hometown Copenhagen.

For the 75th edition of the series, we’re happy to have dubtommy. Formerly recording under the moniker of Trepid, Tommy realized a string of releases exploring various strains of dubby electronics for labels like @waehlscheibe and @mixcult. Not to mention, the record aficionado made efforts to become an integral part of the celebrated KillaCutz record store crew in Amsterdam. Definitely keep an eye out for his personally tagged record tips when visiting!

The mix represents a sleek excursion through slow-burning techno. Consistently warm and full of body till the end marker. Enjoy.

2011年4月より現場での活動をスタート。彼独自の思考でフロアの読みながら最適なチューニングを心掛け、その範囲で自由奔放さを大いに出してくるプレイスタイルに自信を持つDJの1人だ。
2012年に代官山AIRでスタートした彼が主宰を手掛けるBroadは、海外・国内の多方面からアーティストを迎える雑食スタイルで、現在も開催を続けている。
2016年、Dino Sabatini主宰イタリアのOutis Musicを皮切りに、東欧ジョージア、ドイツ、韓国、北九州からPodcastをリリース。

1. このミックスはどちらで収録したものですか？

今年8月、福岡のKieth Flackにて開催されたotonohaでプレイした時のLive Mixです。
使った機材はターンテーブル2台、CDJ2台、パイオニアDJM900ミキサーです。
昨年25周年を迎えた代表箱Kieth Flackは、2階のメインフロア、1階のラウンジ空間あるフロアで2つの楽しみ方が出来ます。来福した際には是非、訪れて欲しい場所です。


2. コンセプトがあれば教えてください。

新譜〜90年代の旧譜まで、ミニマルやハウスをベースにしたセットです。
前半は音数の少ない状態をキープしつつ、踊りに集中させる空間を意識しましたが、中盤は少々ハードな展開になってしまったので、気分を上げたい時に是非！


3. 最近の活動を教えてください。

2020年から福岡を拠点に活動しています。
それまで9年間、東京にいましたが、3〜4年前から各地へ遊びに行くようになり、現地のシーンや街の雰囲気に強く惹かれたことがきっかけで、自分に合う環境や将来の目標をじっくり再整理し、福岡への移住を決めました。
現在、北九州のsound space αで月1開催のUndulate、そして福岡のKieth Flackにて同世代で新しく始めたhospitality、その他のパーティも含めて月2〜3本プレイさせて頂いています。
今後は、自分のパーティBroadも、こちらで開催したいと考えてます。
