Stop To Ask You

Was playing around with some chords and was stuck for inspiration on a theme. My 9 year old wandered into the "studio" (spare room) so I said give me a title for a song. He told me he had only come in to say he was "missing pieces" of lego. So I said Missing Pieces will be the title and it grew from there 😃
I asked my good buddy Johnny from No Killie Fish to lay some of his awesome guitar lines for the lead guitar and I think it has really added some flavor to the track and the solo is killer!! I am one year on SC today 30 Oct 21. So I just though I'd put a quick track together, just a fun one with loads of effects on vocals and guitars, even brought back the trigger gate which I used on a lot of earlier songs. Was fun for me hopefully is for you and always listen to that little devil on your shoulder!!

This one evolved a lot and kind of became a power ballad I think. It reflects the position some of the children of the world find themselves in and was inspired by a couple of excellent Irish charities and their stories. I hope it is meaningful it is meant to be, lyrics below.

Reach The Sun

Bit of a departure from my usual style. Unfortunately we lost an old college friend to cancer late last year and I was thinking about that and those kind of friendships that endure despite time, life and geography meaning you don't see as much of each other as you used to, with of course a small goodbye to our good friend Gerry, Slán Abhaile!!
