Awakening our audio series after a long period of silence, with a unique mix carefully crafted by Ioannis Savvaidis for this instance. 

Ioannis Savvaidis is a Systems Engineer and Sound Artist based in Athens. Working in the area of Computer Science, his sound is sourced from theoretical contexts of Computer Networks and Optics with connections and metaphors for nature under the notion of relative time. 

He collaborated with Anopolis, June, Lower Parts, and Phormix record labels, and he is also a member of UNIX SYSTEMS.

Head Space (@syhtet) is an Athens based artist who uses music as an outlet of expression to portray their influences spanning across a decade of record digging & collecting. The mix is not perfect nor was it ever intended to be - resembling the artists mindset of impulsive creativity and imperfect beauty.

Born and raised in Union City, New Jersey, Nicuri’s journey toward producing music and DJing took hold later than most. Moving in circles surrounding the Exchange Place crew (DJ Qu, Joey Anderson & David Salazar) helped craft his style of DJing & music influences. Musical influences were many, especially growing up in the early 80’s, listening from hip hop to new wave and other form of genres in and around those times. His first house & techno experience was in the very early 90’s when a schoolmate had mentioned of certain underground radio stations in NY playing club music. He was then hooked. 

Nicuri spins a range from soulful/deep house to deep minimal/techno. His DJ style is careful selections arranged skillfully into to one seamless journey. His start as a DJ had landed him spinning at Concrete in Paris and at the Panorama Bar in Berlin on his first tour. From there he’s spun at Output and many other clubs in NY.

Nicuri’s first track release was on DJ Qu’s record label Strength Music on the Exchange Place series called “Ridinthatneedle”. It was a start on his journey to connect with people through his music. His fledgling discography include other releases on labels such as Growin Music, Inimeg Records, Bliq, Mora Music, YYG. In 2014, he had established his own record label called “Sound Theories”.

Victor Aguinaga aka Chicagodeep a Chicago native who grew up on the South Side of the city. His first years that got him into House music was at the age of 11. House music was played on various radio stations across the city. He would stay up late nights just to record the mixes.

As he grew older at the age of 14 he decided to be a House DJ/ He started playing various house parties and raves in the mid ninenties.

In 2011 Victor decided to take his career a step further and learning the ropes of music production. His debut came in 2012 with label partner and good friend Taelue on a Spanish label called Minuendo Recordings. 

2013 Victor decided to start his own label with good friend Taelue and released their first release with Specter & Linkwood. His first album with Taelue will be released in 2016 entitled Metaphoric Expression.

On Saturday 29th of October, episode D7 // 'capital default' took place at Piraeus, GR. This time our special guest was one of our favourite DJs and producers, Fred Peterkin (Fred P.) AKA Black Jazz Consortium. This is a recording from that night that will definitely be one to remember. We hope you'll enjoy our early christmas present!

Fred P is one of the most enduring figures on the contemporary house and techno scene. A deeply talented producer, forward thinking label owner, and simply sublime DJ, Fred has quickly become one of New York’s finest dance music exports during his near- ten year career. Growing up to a musical family in Brooklyn during the 1980s, Peterkin was exposed to the disco, funk and hip hop that he now effortlessly rolls into his introspective house productions. The Soul People Music boss has also released records for New York contemporaries Underground Quality and The Corner, and most recently a well-received LP on Mule Musiq.

London native Fold, aka Rob Glassett, has built up a small but respectable discography of 12″ releases since he began rolling out solo productions back in 2011. Since then he has alternated between George FitzGerald’s Man Make Music imprint and Electric Minds before adding to the ranks of Will Saul’s celebrated label Aus Music with 2 EP’s, ‘Netflix & Chill’ and ‘Lenny’s Jam’.
 
Beyond his release schedule, Fold has also been a resident at NTS Radio for the past 2 years. Ploughing through the Thursday night party hours of midnight to 2am, Fold never fails to reveal himself as a great tastemaker showcasing his diverse record collection that he began compiling in his early teens.
 
This year, Fold has undoubtedly been making big impressions across the globe, transporting his productions to dancefloors and partygoers alike. Not only did 2016 see Fold make his debut on Boiler Room, he also returned to one of the worlds most infamous festivals Glastonbury, where he played a memorable b2b alongside school friend Joy Orbison.
 
Not confining himself to genre pigeon holing, Fold treads away from any ‘housey’ pre-conceptions, affording his music to be heralded as mature and impressively diverse. These qualities have taken him to some of the most infamous clubs from Panorama Bar in Berlin to Fabric’s famous Room 1.
 
Citing his influences from Drum and Bass, UK Garage, 90s Hip Hop to Post Punk & Dub Techno, where in his sets and productions alike, he succeeds in seamlessly mixing these diverse pallet of sounds.

SB-9
Born in Cyprus 1990, recently settled in Berlin, Germany. She proves on every occasion that growing up on the island of Cyprus has deeply influenced her music. She has shaped and have been shaped by the local cypriot musik scene from 2011 and is formerly known as SB-9, Mohama Tajalof and Baba Ghanouj; as she likes to take a liberal approach to her material and identity. 

In 2017 she co-founded the series of parties of “C’est démon!” and “Disco Por Favor”, played in Berlin not long after, and at the opening party of the Cyprus Pavilion in Venice Biennale 17’. She is also an active member of the cypriot collective “Honest Electronics” and is planning to launch her own label “Subaerial” the upcoming summer of 2018. 
When not in the club, she is mixing up a variety of meditative complex sounds and recordings together, to create a limitless and colourful palette of sonic possibilities that are perceptive of her character. Always trying to serve deep and from within.

An alternative grandiose with a solid talent to assess new musical modes and inheritor of rare music material. Inspired by the evolution of the early 90's electronic scene and the flood of music acts that swept Detroit and Birmingham, he has set in motion his rebellious creativity by dropping underground sets for the past decade. Currently based in Madrid, he is part of the Reform team and "Π" Collective in Athens.
