There are few names as instantly recognisable, revered and respected in the world of dance music than Jamie Jones. Renowned DJ and producer, Hot Creations label boss and founder of global event brand Paradise, his influence is felt across the scene as a tastemaker and innovator. Releasing ‘Rushing’, his joint label debut with Darius Syrossian on Defected in the summer of 2019, he now returns to the imprint for another dancefloor heater set to be one of the summer’s must-know tracks ‘My Paradise’. Bearing the same name as Jamie’s party, synonymous with warm Ibiza nights and world class selection, Jamie explores disco influences with an earworm vocal and elegant keys, while his signature high-energy bassline and groove give this release boundless dancefloor appeal.

Hard to believe that this record is now 10 years old.
 
The original is a great deep, house record that was featured on Nick’s ‘Between The Lines’ album on the brilliant Cécille Records. Then the one and only Dennis Ferrer got his hands on it and injected a whole heap of love and energy into it, creating a club anthem.
 
This one still sounds huge in a club whenever it gets dropped today.

French hitmakers Oden & Fatzo return to Defected alongside frequent collaborator THEOS with ‘Only You’ featuring Noa Milee. 2024 marked an incredible year for Oden & Fatzo, who soared to new heights with the release of summer smash ‘Tell Me What You Want’ with Poppy Baskcomb. The now Defected staple earned over a thousand spins across UK radio alone, culminating in a live PA with Poppy at Defected’s Ushuaïa Ibiza residency. Defected heavyweight Low Steppa returns alongside rising house name Capri with ‘Got The Funk’. No stranger to the London label, the DJ and producer from Brum has been a firm favourite at Defected shows worldwide for many years, from its flagship festivals to major club nights alike. His releases across the Defected family of labels have also seen major club play, from ‘This Is The Sound’ on DFTD to ‘Bullerengue’ with Crusy on Defected. For his latest label outing, Low Steppa collaborates with Capri, an artist whose tracks have been supported by Mark Knight, Sam Divine, Darius Syrossian and Dombresky, with more releases on tastemaker labels scheduled for 2025. A certified Defected staple, Noir & Haze’s seductive, deep house hit ‘Around’ is reworked by Italian titans of the scene MEDUZA. Released in the early 2010s, a golden era for the genre, Solomun’s Vox of the track became inescapable on club floors throughout 2011, originally supported by Deetron, Jimpster and Adam Port to name a very small few. MEDUZA now bring their signature sound to the record, a sound that has seen them become the biggest streaming Italian artist in history and grace some of the most prestigious music stages in the world in 2024 – Creamfields, Detroit’s Movement Festival and DJ Mag’s #1 club Hï Ibiza. A fresh and summery collaboration arrives on Defected, as Grigoré, Serve Cold and Jaguar Jaguar deliver ‘Dancing’. Grigoré has risen to success producing and DJing across house and techno spheres, quickly earning him respect from world-class artists like Solomun, CamelPhat and Kevin de Vries. His work with frequent collaborator Serve Cold began with his third EP, Seasons, with the tracks channelling both artists’ melancholic and melodic sides. Defected house hero Ferreck Dawn returns to the London label with fiery summer heater ‘Deep Inside’. His previous label release in April 2025, ‘Make Me Weak’ featuring vocals from Carolyne Byrne, showcased an evolved sound for Ferreck - receiving much radio support across the UK, US, Ireland, France and his home country of The Netherlands. The Dutch powerhouse continues to go from strength to strength with an upcoming set at the label’s new residency at Pacha Ibiza and weekend festival Defected Malta in 2025. CamelPhat and Elderbrook’s modern Defected classic ‘Cola’ is remixed by powerhouse Ukrainian duo ARTBAT. Early support from the likes of Solomun initially led to ARTBAT being recognised as ‘Artist of the Year’ by The DJ Awards and Mixmag’s ‘Stars of the Year’ in 2019, and since then the producer duo have become certified giants of the scene. Lee Walker vs. DJ Deeon feat. Katy B’s ‘Freak Like Me’ is without question the house record of 2016. Lee Walker’s remix of DJ Deeon’s rare classic first made its national radio debut via an Annie Mac ‘Hottest Record’, with Pete Tong making it his Essential New Tune the same night; further radio support quickly followed from Danny Howard (Future Anthem), MistaJam (Jam Hot), Kiss Fresh, and more. Within weeks the track had hit No.1 on Beatport, topped tastemaker charts (Buzz), and went Top 15 on Shazam’s Future Hits. 

Now featuring a new vocal from UK dance queen Katy B atop the track’s distinctive bassline,  ‘Freak Like Me’ is a surefire contender for one of this summer’s biggest anthems. On air and on sale from 17th June, with an impact date of 19th August, this single is a joint release between Defected Records and Ministry of Sound – a partnership that previously took Storm Queen’s ‘Look Right Through’ to No.1 in the UK singles chart in 2013.

‘Freak Like Me’ first set the dance music world alight after being played by Marco Carola at the Music On Ibiza 2015 closing party, a now seminal moment which went viral via YouTube. The cross genre appeal of the track has attracted heavy support from a range of DJs, including Disclosure, Dixon, The Martinez Bros, Loco Dice, and many more. And - alongside the recent remix from Armand Van Helden – it’s dominated the first waves of this year’s Ibiza parties and summer festivals.

In April, Katy B released her album, ‘Honey’, her third album and the follow-up to ‘Little Red’. Late last year she hit No.1 in the UK with Ministry of Sound alongside Tinie Tempah and KDA with her flawless vocal performance on ‘Turn The Music Louder (Rumble)’. She recently released singles with Craig David and Major Lazer (‘Who Am I?’), and Four Tet and Floating Points (‘Calm Down’).

Young British producer Lee Walker burst onto the scene in a way only possible in the digital age, transformed overnight from a bedroom producer into a breakthrough star thanks to his edit of ‘Freak Like Me’, but there's more to Walker than just one record. He’s released a slew of tracks for respected labels including Wiggle, No Idea's Original and Circus Recordings. 2016 gig highlights include Sankeys in Manchester, Ibiza and at Studio 338 in London, and The Zoo Project. He’ll appear at Radio 1 in Ibiza on 5th August.

During the 1990’s the now legendary DJ Deeon released 30 singles in four years for cult imprint Dance Mania, since then he’s continued to build upon his classic recordings with tracks through his own label, Freakmode, and DJ sets that carry on the raw spirit of ghetto house. Recent UK shows include Bloc and XOYO.

Fresh from a summer of smashing the Ibiza club circuit, Australian born star Sonny Fodera shows no signs of slowing down, as he returns with this two-track release on Defected. Taken from Fodera’s debut solo album ‘Frequently Flying’, the opening track is a new remix from Qubiko. The remix was originally part of Defected’s collaboration with Relentless Energy drink, but the track was sounding so good we thought it deserved its own release outright. Here the Italian artist lends his signature bouncing basslines and feel-good sound to the track, making it destined for the dancefloor. In comparison, Fodera’s own production sounds more stripped back, his rolling house sounds paired with the greater focus on Shannon Saunders’ stunning vocals and the melodic piano, make for a track that has both club appeal and emotional depth.
