What I Might Do (Kilter Remix) - Ben Pearce

Jamie Jones launched the Hot Creations label back in 2010 with 'Ruckus'. Now Jamie makes his long awaited return to Hot Creations with 'Planets, Spaceships', a four-track EP set for vinyl release on 18th November 2013.

These tracks have been Jamie's secret battle weapons all summer. Tapping into a dark sider but with that distinctive Jamie Jones melody and drive that are a signature feature of his DJ sets. Title track 'Planets, Spaceships' features vocalist Daniela Caldellas from Digitaria, who has an album planned for Hot Creations in the new year, whilst 'Cookie Monster', 'Starp Trek' and 'Stick' take things even deeper with vocal snatches and crisp claps.

Highlighting his avant-garde style and showcasing exactly why he is recognised as one of the leading figures in the rebirth of house music, 'Planets, Spaceships' further cements Jamie's place in the dance music hall of fame.

The always on point Definition:Music is back with another killer house EP, this time from Frag Maddin, the Hamburg man who has impressed with previous releases on labels like Area Remote and Heinz Music.
With a background that includes drumming in a punk rock band and producing hip-hop, this young and hyperactive talent has plenty of real skills that truly show in his four new cuts.
Up first is One Hand, a mid tempo deep house effort with dark filtered vocals sounding like your self conscious as they mutter here and there. Woody drums and rough percussion drive things along and the vibe is a curious, inviting and intimate one. ‘Brochette’ is a lush and even deeper number with golden chords, rough-cut drums blissed out melodies that speak to a beach party sensibility. Next up, Red Eye is another nicely analogue and textured house jam that glides along on crisp and clean hi hats, with a buried deep bassline bring the cool and effortless funk. Last track Gonna Be is a nice elastic construction with more humid pads, nicely live sounding percussion work and well-treated vocals all fusing together into an easy to love house jam. This is a fresh, engaging EP that confirms both Definition:Music and Frag Maddin to be fine house exponents.

We love how Spain is growing in terms of electronic techno production. No doubt that big artists like Edu Imbernon and Los Suruba are responsible of this. Here we have an original cut named Brutus, a great melodic techno weapon made for synthesiser lovers. The remix is from Audiojack, creators of the anthem 'Machine Code', they came out with a profound remix that maintains the spirit of the original but with a much more focus on the beats. About the EP :
It took us longer than we thought but finally release no.20 is here and we have a special treat for you. Freshly signed by Connaisseur, 'Roman Rai' is back on our imprint with massive EP 'Perceptions Of Delusion'. First track of the same title is one of those tracks that will define this year here for us at Deepwave. Timeless, beautiful and simply breathtaking, not much more to say. Second track on A side 'Thoughts Are Gone' is a nice melodic ambient journey again showcasing Roman's artistic feel & creativity and expressing his feelings of past months. For first remix we invited our good friend and great producer 'Peter Pardeike' from Innervisions, and what a remix he delivers! Outstanding, dreamy, and captivating track which gets you in the zone and off ground right from the beginning. Second remix comes in hands of 'Ian Metty" who did his classical journey rework, underlined with nice afro bongos and floating atmospheres, topped with bells from original to get things moving. Whole release is coming out both on Vinyl & digital in December/January, 2017/18 respectively, and we would love you to play it and support it as we strongly believe this is a unique piece of music!

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning.
