This mix was composed after a trip west to Cleveland and Chicago, then back home through Pittsburgh. A series of serendipitous circumstances found me spinning in Chicago on a Thursday evening. While I was travelling, my boy Dao worked out the details from afar on my behalf. It was great to have Alyssa with me for this one. We had a great time, then enjoyed Chicago the next day. We did the architectural boat tour. What an aesthetically pleasing city Chicago is. When we returned home, my boy Damian was in town from Orlando, so we threw down some records for a few hours. It has been a full July, and I am grateful for all my friends and family. All this contributes to the mix you find below. Thanks for listening, for real.

I was asked to record a video mix for my very good friend Nick's 50th so they could play it on a projector at his party in Majorca. This is the audio of that mix .. We were in Ibiza for Nick's 49th & the running joke was that we were celebrating his 50th (hence you're only 50 twice) - we booked a table near Cafe Mambo & they even put a big '50' on the wall behind us.

Strawberry Fields holds a special place in my heart ~ a festival where I've gathered countless memories over the years, dancing among the gumtrees on the Murray to the sounds of many of my favourite artists. This afro-melodic-housey mix is a celebration of those moments and the unforgettable sets from some of my faves, including andhim, Monkey Safari, Super Flu and Lovebirds ~ all of whom have made Strawberry Fields truly magical.
