This has always been my favorite Christmas song, so re-mixing it made sense. Aubrey Prunty recorded the vocals for a release in 2007 but things didn't work out. She recently came back in to re-record some of the current vocals and I worked a bit on tightening up programming, compression, etc. I hope you like it, it's also a free download!

Our Lady of Salvation

The closing cue for the film "Rook." My job in this cue (from Director Brian Reece) was to blend the two main character's themes together towards the end to accentuate the main turn in the film. Dark, twisted, romantic and tense.

Nevermore

I started writing this track 5 years ago. I overheard some AM radio static that sounded interesting and recorded samples on my Edirol R-09. I love splicing & glitching, so I dropped the samples into Ableton Live and started working. This is what emerged. The whole track is a progressive build of completely organic textures and original sounds.

I never really did much with this song because I didn't like it, yet when people heard my portfolio they said this track stuck out.

Fragmentation will be released on iTunes in late Feb/early March as part of "Movements of the Heart" - a full length record of my cinematic music.

When I heard what Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe did in their score for Inception, I was really impressed. I knew I wanted to write something that was similar in tone - just as long as I could make my horn section soar. You can be the judge of that. "Pandemic" is what emerged after 60 hours of programming and writing.

Pandemic

Since I left Cambodia in 2010, I haven't been able to shake the memories of the people and the suffering they've been through....the suffering that they're still enduring. The idea for this cue emerged when I drove with our team through the tiny village of Svay Pak - the site of a massive underage prostitution sting in 2001.

The score for "A Reflection" - a short documentary on the life of Władysław Tomczyk by the guys at Variable in NYC. The imagery was so unbelievably stunning that I didn't think I could score it at first glance - then I hired a few violinist friends of mine to help get it done. Strength lies in collaboration. I named the piece Diāna because of a girl I met earlier in 2012 while in New York City...She (Diāna) had been sex trafficked into the US and caught up into a life of sexual exploitation - her story lives with me, and now with this music. Whenever I walk the streets of NYC, this song is what plays in my head.

Diāna

The closing score from the forthcoming Unearthed 2013 vision film "Groundswell." I wrote it with this particular tone in mind because of a quote I heard recently - "Your scars will become lights for others to see. Don't hide them."

All ambient textures, vocals and pads are from Omnisphere - run through a matrix bus of guitar amps, distortions, high shelf reduction EQs, Waves Reverb and delay. The piano performance was done in my studio on my upright Yamaha P22 - I compressed and EQed the performance in such a way as to make them sound older and more textured.

Your Scars are Lights

My friend AJ and I co-authored the score for a film called "Love Costs Every Thing" in the Spring of 2011. The film is feature length documentary that takes a provocative look into the world of Christian persecution. Today, I realized I hadn't shared this track - and it was one of my favorites because of the unique tone it takes - the scene for this track takes place in a church that had just been bombed by Al-Quaeda in Baghdad the month prior - lots of spaced ambience, sorrow and tension in this one.

I used loads of smooth, warm analog synth patches, fizzy arpeggios & spent several hours programming MIDI to create something in 2011 with components from the 1980s. And yes, Daft Punk's score for TRON helped inspire me just a little bit :)
