Being the first song we wrote to release as Déformer, “Spin” cements our new, more melodic and intricate direction right out the gate. Thematically, the song focuses on how external forces in one’s life can dominate and distort their thought processes to the point where it can feel like all sense of identity is lost. The erratic music is a response to this, with the eerie slow-moving soundscapes and aggressive post-punk explosions demonstrating the anger and fear this control makes us feel.
