I wasn't originally intending on releasing this mix, because I'm an insane perfectionist. I put together my favourite parts from this set and created a mix for Pretty Lights The Hot Sh!T with the intention that I would only be releasing one major mix this fall. But recently I've had an overwhelming amount of requests to release this Shambhala 2017 set, and so, I listened. Featuring Sam Klassik on guitar, I present my Shambhala 2017 Fractal Forest Mix.

Defunk Presents Shambhala 2017 - Fractal Forest Mix

French producer CloZee delivered a very eclectic mix as part of our weekly MiniMix series that invites us on a sonic adventure through heady, experimental, mid-tempo electronica, instrumental funk, and classical jazz stylings. This thoughtful mix keeps you guessing all the way through without ever draining your adrenaline, it’s beautifully peaceful while being unapologetically weird. Here is my set from this year's Shambhala Music Festival. Thank you to everyone who came out and packed the stage with me, it was truly a life changing moment! And special thanks to @willdabeastofficial for adding a unique live element with their beautiful horns. 

This was my third year officially on the lineup and my first year performing at The Pagoda stage. I took this opportunity to, in a way, reinvent my approach when writing my set. I leaned less on popular remixes and acapellas, and more on underground electronic music I enjoy. I took it as an opportunity to test out tons of music I have been quietly working on and all my favorite new edits.
