Peter, a friend of mine's just committed suicide.  He was a great friend of mine, and it's... I've come back, and I heard that, and it's shocked me a bit; and I wanna tell you because, um, not that you know him — that's not the point.  And he planned it out; he had a... he left his boyfriend... I mean, um, he left notes... and things. But he... he threw himself off a cliff, Peter, and... I just wondered what you think that feeling is like.

What happens, what goes through your head, between throwing yourself off, and actually dying? I wondered what you thought of it. Perhaps you could call me and tell me because it would help me, because I have a terrible fear of heights, and for me, just the idea of falling, so far, and being alive... And I just wondered if things go through your head — you know, people that you love, and that, or things that you feel that you should've done — flash before you, but you can't do anything about it. I just wondered what you thought.

You're probably the only person that I can call right now. And... I'd like to see you, because I think, in a funny way we're doing that... we're just... don't really connect.

One day, you know, you're gonna fall, or I'm gonna fall, or something's gonna happen; and... anyway. Well, I'm very sad. You know my number. Hope you're both well.

To honor the recent passing of composer Harold Budd, this special edition of Wayward in Limbo features a live recording of a very special concert by Harold and Seattle bassist Keith Lowe. 

The performance took place at the Good Shepherd Center Chapel in Seattle on June 11, 2009 to celebrate the release of Harold's book of poetry, "Colorful Fortune." It was co-presented by Nonsequitur and publishers Heavenly Monkey Editions (Vancouver) and MoonLiner Books (Seattle). Thanks to Rob Angus for the beautiful recording, and to Keith Lowe for agreeing to share it with us.

And thank you, Harold, for gracing this world with your beautiful music. You are appreciated and missed.

Where does fantasy end and reality begin? The dichotomy of the Apollonian and Dionysian nature of man represents our greatest inner duel - the dance of chaos and order, the struggle of mind versus heart, the battle of immaculate harmony and intoxicated euphoria; a lifetime of chasing one's wildest dreams and divine muses, raised to the heavens by sheer imagination, only to be washed ashore by the unrelenting waters of Earth, crashing against the jagged rocks of existence, faced only by one's own truthful reflection staring back from the indifference of the sea. That is our ultimate, inevitable fate: the futility of our desires, the certain tragedy of living torn between two tides. 

The Birth of Tragedy is a compilation in two halves reflecting the mythological symbolism of Apollo and Dionysus, descendants of Zeus. The first half presents the Apollonian form - order, harmony, clarity. The second half is Dionysian - a state of chaotic liberation without boundaries, driven by instinct, blinded bliss and disarray. The collision between these worlds unveils the drama that we find ourselves in.

Deison is deison. involved in the noise electronic area since 1991,(he played loops and voice in Meathead during 90's he approached the world of sounds doing self released cassettes doing his own tape collages with some tape recorders, turntables and objects mainly in the field of noise and power-electronics; he established a small label (Loud!) and began to collaborate with artist like Lasse Marhaug,KK Null, Shee Retina Stimulants, etc... influenced by the electroacoustic music, ambient minimal electronic as well as a great interest into digital music and sound design then he operated with samplers and field recordings. On Loud! he has released a couple of 7" singles and a record with Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), plus a lot of compilation appearances . His first cd "Dirty Blind Vortex" has been released by Crionic Mind (usa). His new releases om mp3 format show the new sound direction taken by deison. calm waves of looping deep ambient scapes, penetrated with sample fragments and light additional noise-ambient textures form a silent, minimal frame-set. Experience this new imaginary movie soundtrack. He also contibutes sounds for his more dark-ambient duo Cinise. He works as a dj in a indipendent local radio (Loud! radio show) playing electronic, avantgarde and experimental music and is a co-fouder of Final Muzik label.
