This record is dedicated to all the soulful dancefloors around the world - from L.A. to Buenos Aires to Tokyo. After his cinematic and sixties beat influenced albums ‘And The Beat Goes On’ and his debut album ‘Truncate It Right’, Bas Lexter is ready for the next step and wants to make us move.
The Hanover/Germany based musician and producer comes up with a winning variety of styles again. Infusing the music with his 'real' music lover vibe. This EP starts up with the killer Latin Jazz track 'Celias Baile', which will put you in the mood for another drink from the beachfront bar. The Mexican horns in the chorus will make you party hard. You'll be ordering another Tequila in next to no time! That's then followed by the powerful and souldriven 'Dry July', which will get all ladies shaking their ‘thing’ to the Bas Lexter groove.
If you had to describe his musical style, then it would be ‘Soul, Downbeat, Reggae, Easy Listening and always a touch of Jazz’. Bas Lexter is a ‘shy cat’, he was discovered by Nokia France and had tracks released on different 12” records (Resense/Yo Mama/Universal). Beyond that, this multitalented artist has produced tracks for Ganesha & Ragga D, as well as Asher D./Music of Life.
The 'Casino’ track could soundtrack a ‘gangster-poker-night’, breaking down with an Indian flavour, a true pearl of a track. ‘Akeni’, a short interlude with a slow Drum n Bass feeling, is surrounded by some cheeky ethno sounds. Then comes the Bas Lexter Reggae side, in the form of ‘In die Knie’, which should remind you of the good old ‘Studio 1’ times. It's a deep and dubbed-out one for the lovers. Final cut on the EP is a remix from Aaron Bingle, a.k.a. Deja-Move, his downbeat project. Bingle reshaped the Easy Listening track 'Nipponside Winder' into a dancefloor version, a simple, cool and swinging beat. Please get your next round of ‘Gin Fizz on ice’ in your favourite bar.

The Bas Lexter Ensample ist zurück. ‘Tres Greatful Amigos’ ist das 3te Album des in Hannover ansässigen Multi-instrumentalisten, DJs und Produ-zenten Ricci Puncha, welcher der Mann hinter diesem Projekt ist. Was sonst könnten wir sagen? Diese Platte bereitet einem einfach gute Laune. Wieder Mal bietet Bas Lexter uns seine großartige Spieltart zwischen 50iger bis hin zu 70iger Themen an, die in gewohnter Manier mit modernen, swingenden Beats, jazzigen Meldodien und Einflüssen, sowie mit vielen knisternden Soul Samples garniert sind.

‘DJ Cuzcos Revenge’ eröffnet das Album mit einem atmosphärischen Feeling, das einen an den Eröffnungstitel eines alten Alfred Hitchcock Streifens denken lässt, der auf einen 90iger DJ mit echten ‘Scratchskills’ trifft. Bas öffnet uns von der ersten Minute an die Türen in sein musikalisches Universum. Der zweite Titel ‘Sweetback Fresh Out Da Jack’ ist eine ‘dicke’ ‘Rare Groove’ Nummer mit wunderbaren Bläser- und Strecherlinien unterlegt und einem Oldschool MC, der seine Rhymes über eine Menge positiver Energie fließen lässt. Man würde am liebesten nach Jamaika fliegen nachdem man die ‘heiße Sommernacht’ Reggae Nummer ‘Lonley Feeling (Rocking Night)’ gehört hat. Der Track ist schlicht und ergreifend eine Perle von einem Underground Reggae Titel. Ebenso wie ‘Blessings’, welches eine Remix Adaption von Aaron Bingle’s ‘Can You Hear Me Now’ ist, hier in einer ‘rootsigen’, energetischen und leichtfüssigen Retro-interpretation. Was mehr braucht man mehr um ein Bas Lexter Album zu machen? Jazzy Swings? Diese werden mit ‘Dickie’s Freestyle Mambo’ und dem percussionlastigen Titel Voo-doo King serviert. Auf der Uptempo Seite haben wir authentische Breakbeats mit dem B-Boy Track ‘Blendsfield’. Bas wäre nicht Bas, würde er uns nicht für einen Moment in die Gefilde der ‘Latin’ Musik entführen. Mit ‘No Te Meta’, ‘Me La Llevo’ und der Easy Listening Nummer ‘Bá!’ kommt er unseren Freunden auf der Süd-Amerikanischen Seite des Globus entgegen. Er spielt seine melancholischen Gitarren- und Pianolinien über wunderbar rhythmische und treibende Latinobeats. Auf der Soulseite haben wir tiefe und langsame Soultracks wie ‘Wassup’ und ‘The 4th Take’, die einen an die guten alten ‘Marvin Gaye’ Zeiten erinnern. This record will make you having an uplifting time. Again Bas Lexter provides the finest mixture between 50ies to 70ies music styles, combined with his modern swinging beats, jazzy influenced melodies and many sizzling, soulful samples.

‘DJ Cuzcos Revenge’ introduces the record with an atmospherically feeling, reminding in the opener of an old Alfred Hitchcock movie, meeting up with skillful early-90ies Dj cuts. Bas opens up the doors into his universe of music from the first minute on. The second title ‘Sweetback Fresh Out Da Jack’ is a heavy ‘Rare Groove’ track with amazing string- and hornworks and an Oldschool MC who is flowing with his rhymes over a lot of positiv energy. The ‘hot-summer-night’ Reggae tune ‘Lonley Feeling (Rocking Night)’ simply is a pearl of an underground Reggae music title that makes you want to buy a ticket and fly to Jamaica and get deeper into their Reggae music culture. Just like ‘Blessings’ which is a remix adaptation from Aaron Bingle’s ‘Can You Hear Me Now’ – in a rootsy, easy sounding and energizing retro-interpretation. What more does it take to make a Bas Lexter album? Jazzy swings? They are being served with ‘Dickie’s Freestyle Mambo’ and the percussion weighted track Voo-doo King. On the uptempo side we have some authentic Breakbeats coming with the B-Boy track ‘Blendsfield’. Bas would not be Bas if he would not lead us into the fields of Latin music for a moment. With ‘No Te Meta’, ‘Me La Llevo’ and the Easy Listening tittle ‘Bá!’ he is satisfying our friends on the South-American side of the globe. Sweet, melancholic guitars and piano melodies are running over his swinging and powerful latino rhythms. On the ‘souldside’ we have the deep and slow soultracks ‘Wassup’ and ‘The 4th Take’, reminding a bit in the good old ‘Marvin Gaye’ times. Head of Deja-Tunes Aaron Bingle works in the music business since 1997 and brought in his knowledge to found a record label that is reflecting his experience regarding the heart and soul of music. Bingle started his music-career as a musician and producer signed to a major label. He performed many live gigs and tournees and built up a studio unit that was well known for the collection of vintage instruments - mentioned in the Rolling Stone magazine. While working out his skills as a producer he founded Deja-Tunes in 2000 as the roof production company for his work and releases. In the following years Bingle released on more than 30 labels such as Sony, BMG, Universal and Ministry of Sound. Worldwide releases and cooperations with many artists and his experience in the music business built the fundament to take the step from a music-management to a label-structure.
