Dino Lenny returns to Crosstown Rebels with his latest single ‘I’ve Learned That’, accompanied by remixes  from Shadow Child and Jonathan Kaspar - plus his own take with Fed Conti. 

A regular on labels including Afterlife, Ellum, Innervisions, and Diynamic, London-based Italian-born DJ/producer  and Fine Human Records boss Dino Lenny’s solo and collaborative catalogue continues to grow as he features as  one of the most consistent names within the worlds of house and techno. Having released his first EP on the label  in 2019, he now returns to Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels for a second outing with the release of his  touching new single ‘I’ve Learned That’ - which is one of a collection of records dedicated to his daughter - with  remixes from Shadow Child, Jonathan Kaspar, and his own interpretation alongside Fed Conti. 

“My daughter Victoria is seven years old. Since she was born, I always felt I had to make sure she knew  about me straight away. You never know how much time you have. At first, I was going to write a diary  with all my thoughts and stuff like that. But if she’s a little bit like me, she’d probably pick up the book a  few times and leave it there. So I decided to transform my thoughts for her into songs. ‘I’ve Learned That’  is one of those.” - Dino Lenny. 

Shaped by emotive piano keys, blooming strings and refined drums, ‘I’ve Learned’ showcases a rich and  heartwarming production taking cues from dance music and beyond as the track’s uplifting and inspiring vocals  carry the production across nine minutes of delight. 

Beginning the transition towards more traditional electronic spheres, his remix alongside Fed Conti utilises vibrant  guitar licks and a luminous bassline to head into a late-night discovery of disco influences. Next, Shadow Child’s  ‘Classic Mix’ is a skippy house gem as bumping low-ends work amongst hazy chords, with Jonathan Kaspar’s  remix moving deeper via surging synths for a hypnotic and thrilling ride to close.

Underground mainstay Guy Gerber is back on his own Rumors label with new EP Leave It On. Across three tracks he showcases his famously emotive and melodic house sounds. 

Gerber has been a core part of the underground for years, headlining the world's most revered clubs and festivals, collaborating with P. Diddy, bringing all new party concepts to Ibiza, and serving up serene and synth heavy soundscapes that move people physically and emotionally on labels like Cocoon, Italians Do It Better and Rumors. 

This one kicks off with the lush deep house elegance of 'Leave It On' with its languid bass and live sounding drums. Swirling pads and atmospheric vocals bring a romantic feel to this late night jam. 'Leave Me' then picks up the pace with more percussive but still smooth grooves, this time doused in sweeping chords that bring sunshine and soul. 'Jupiter Blues' closes out with a cosmic exploration, the gently tinkling keys shining like stars as warm, rubbery drums carry you onwards and upwards.

How to describe these tracks? Rough, wild, sparkling gems for your upcoming club nights?

Without a doubt, these productions leave a lasting impression and atmosphere, as already proven in our label head’s sets. The EP kicks off with "Silvio," featuring a rolling bassline reminiscent of the disco edits from the 2000s, like "Je Dàvu’s – Limitiert #9" or Rub n Tug’s classic edits, yet with a remarkably wild touch that gives the track its unique character. "Aus Music" might already be familiar to some from Dixon’s Cercle set and is, without question, a standout. It combines clever production with a certain spice that makes it a special companion in your usb stick and disco bag. Finally, "Mulher Gato" rounds out the EP, providing a fitting conclusion to a release that is set to resonate long after the last note.

While some guys will tell you now it’s all computers, at Turbo we know in our hearts that everything in life can be understood as a funhouse mirror. Sascha Funke’s massive 2017 hit “MZ” is one of the most iconic house records ever released on our label, and thus deserving of the ultimate honour: a remix pack reflecting each of the manifold facets of a modern dancefloor classic from the most prestigious and respected angles imaginable.

As studious Turbo watchers have no doubt clocked*, we have paid access to the halls of European power, where you get to make backroom deals with Emmanuel Macron and British Seinfeld as Opus’ “Live is Life” blares over a gigantic bluetooth speaker. Hailing from Caracas Venezuela, Pablo Sánchez has made his home in Barcelona, carving out an impressive reputation for exciting and eclectic productions and performances. Here, he drops a hugely impressive three tracker for Hamburg’s hafendisko label.
‘Daydream’ is built around a throbbing groove. Thick, punchy kicks and snappy snares set the tone, before the bubbling, rolling baseline brings the propulsion. Spacey synths and shuffling percussion suggest a love of the more outer-fringes of disco and house, before the vocal drops to bring the whole track together.
Pablo Bolivar produces a crispy remix - tonnes of space and dynamism in the mix allows the elements to breath and find their own function - the track explodes into life with a full throttle release of kinetic energy - sure to hit hard when deep into the more cosmic parts of the night.
‘Mahari’ is a finely crafted and slickly executed piece that exists in the same orbit as ‘Daydream’ ,but finds a different way to shine - pulsing synth tones and stuttering effects cast the vibe deep into space - one that will stick with the more outernational dancefloor troopers.
