The REC series compiles outstanding performances recorded in the club throughout the year, highlighting artists representing our love for electronic music.

Just a month ago, Answer Code Request and Amotik washed Fuse over with a gripping 3 hours back-to-back. And among the countless ephemeral alliances that have animated our Room 01 in recent years, this pairing is hailed as one of the most harmonious and intuitive we’ve ever had.

With a constant, fluid rhythmic approach, Answer Code Request and Amotik combine the best of both worlds. Sometimes hypnotic, straightforward or uplifting, you don’t need more than a few tracks to understand that those two enjoy playing together. It’s a refreshing exploration of techno, departing from standardized formulas. And god, their palpable pleasure is simply contagious.

Blazing with rough-hewn industrial grooves and raucous dub onslaughts, the mixes of Berlin-based jockey Yonti have earned him accolades from the techno internationale and deservedly so. Pushing for a genotypically rugged and uncompromising sound, rife with nods to the Birmingham scene and Berlin’s brutalist 90s vibe, Yonti has us traversing chaotic landscapes where stripped-back body-jackers rub shoulders with further subliminal heaters, and harsh winds blow across Bauhausian sound architectonics with unrelenting grit. Unfortunately my live recording during my opening set at LOFI from got smashed by the technician so I decided to look into my USB and re-record the set at home as I resonated with the tracks and overall flow of the set. 

Hope you enjoy this opening set as much as I did, starting out from deep ambient to some hard hitting stuff in the end of the set. Let me guide you <3

The German/Mozambican soul Cecilia Tosh is a Berlin based artist and entrepreneur.
Sonically Cecilia is influenced and most inspired by Detroit Techno and Dub Techno. Her sets have a constant groove, are deep, trippy and yet colorful and she’s known for her multifaceted journeys. When not performing she can often be found curating events, releases & exhibitions alike.
Cecilia is co-founder of the former open air club and collective CURA Berlin. She initiated & directed the exhibition and album Kotti Island Disc (Tresor Records).

Avid music collector, label owner & DJ @vincent-neumann has gathered a loyal underground following by word of mouth, with consistently brilliant closing sets and long patient vinyl orientated mixing. Born, raised and currently residing in Leipzig, Vincent Neumann works as a psychotherapist during the day and as a DJ by night. As one of the residents of Leipzig’s Distillery since 2012, he happily gets to share his passion for dance music regularly. Next to this he also runs the Leipzig based label Unitas Multiplex. The vibes during his DJ-sets are often described as energetic, fast, enthusiastic and sometimes even relentless, without ever sacrificing taste or quality.

Steve Rachmad’s techno project STERAC has for many years been a seminal force in his native Netherlands and beyond. Releasing over 100 releases across the much feted Delsin, Klockworks, Mote-Evolver, Tresor and others, he’s become something of a cult figure, and dubbed a father of Detroit in The Netherlands for added points. It’s hard to imagine a more venerated artist and there’s good reason why, Rachmad’s fearless approach to production puts him a cut above many of his peers, often taking pure feeling and a collection of well worn machines as a starting point and trusting his gut along the path to finished product. For Bassiani Podcast 190, the Dutch master of techno delivers a thorough lesson in expert mixing. From orchestral strings to utilitarian bleeps, Rachmad’s sound bridges a gap no one else can.
