Tasalul is a collection of 14 one-shot recordings heavily sampled and processed through different methods to create a variety of soundtracks. The pieces range from calm to aggressive, emphasizing on texture, repetition, and decay. Tasalul, or the act of infiltration: a sonic mission of breaking into prohibited mental/physical zones imposed on us, in pursuit of a vision to overcome the state of siege.

Kiosk Radio, Radio Raheem and Radio 80000 will host 25AV platform's selected artists for a series of exclusive mixes and selections inspired by their musical world airing simultaneously across the three stations. 

Today we host Belgian-based communication designer practicing queer publishing Noam Youngrak Son and Colette Aliman (NL) sonic artist, researcher and designer working within Rotterdam.

In May  2023, I conducted a series of recorded sessions at the MPAE/EEG labs, involving 28 participants from diverse international backgrounds who did not have English as their parent language. Each participant occupied an isolated vocal booth for a session lasting approximately 20 minutes, during which they engaged in reading, listening, and repeating the same sets of words using a specially designed script and with a contemporary US Western dialect as a vocal guide.

I composed a series of works of recorded phonetic impressions. Side A, Transients Script, sounds only the transients, or variations in current, voltage, or frequency present in each word. Here we can listen to the complex percussive elements that shape our speech and spoken words.  Side B hosts works that mark differences and similarities present between the 28 voices as they repeat back words from the designed script. The sounding of “O” as a tonal choir, the shifting of sinusoidal waves, and the cracking of voices in the initial sounding of the letter “A” are examples of the phonetic particularities embodied in these works.

For seven days, I wandered the streets of Nicosia and the rooms of Maria's appartement, unraveling myself in the notions of deterritorialization and affection. A very special and warm thank you to Maria Spivak, also to Pyrgatory studios.
