Our next guest for The Sound Sisters series is a French-born, Amsterdam-based Djanne with a long history behind the decks: Synatec felt a fascination for electronic music from a very early age, being largely influenced by the sound of Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode and bands like Front 242. It was then that she felt compelled to take an active part in the electronic music scene and in 1995, she bought her first set of turntables to learn the craft of DJing. Back then, her influences shifted to the sound of labels like R&S, Warp, Djax up Beats, F Com and Planet Core Productions Frankfurt. 
Spinning records was just a first step: music production followed soon and later on, also her participation in the international rave scene as Witchcraft for Hardcore Techno and Nuala for Jungle/Drum’n Bass, with B.A.S.S. collective first and later, for Amsterdam's infamous Cheeky Monday, between 2002 - 2004 and 2012 - 2019 respectively. 
Drawing from UK Breaks, Jungle, raw and hypnotic Techno, Hardcore and Gabber House but, especially, from Electro, her style is versatile, with clean mixing skills, typical of who has cut their teeth deep on vinyl djing.  
This month we celebrate the release of her single Limbo on Da Traxx Recordings: a driving march with cinematic traits and an esoteric feel, perfect for a captivating intro.
With several residencies spread all over Europe, including the one with Smiley Culture Radio, you can still catch her play in Amsterdam, as a resident DJ of the DAMn Techno collective.

Bringing a unique blend of groovy and broken rhythms, SHRZD is our guest for the 2nd hour of ep. XVI of The Garbage Game - but also the 1st one of a “presents” series dedicated to showcase, in fact, younger upcoming talents.

Hailing from (one of) the most musically prolific cities of Italy, #Naples - also the fertile ground for the founding fathers of #ItalianTechno (think Gaetano Parisio, Marco Carola, Markantonio or the more recent Luigi Madonna, Raffaele Attanasio and Drumcode superstar Joseph Capriati - among many many others) - SHRZD (read sherazade) doesn’t include any of the mentioned artists in his influences list: his interest for electronic music sparked much later. Coming from a family of musicians, his early years were marked by the fascination with the emo/post-hardcore underground music scene, during which he learnt the guitar by himself - this led to perform with his band Sisifo at several venues around Naples.
It was during his Conservatorium years, marked by experimentation and creativity, that he transitioned to Production and vinyl DJing, as he made his mark through the lively Hip-Hop scene of Naples, with a signature style dense in melancholy and minimalism.
Relocating to Amsterdam translated in a further expansion of his musical boundaries, and finally towards dance music, as he founded the event organization “Rehab” and eventually joined the 8sixA Collective in NDSM.
Another true believer in the power of sharing experiences as a mean for mutual growth, for Sherazade music is not just a form of expression but it holds a profound meaning, with a core value of fun embedded in his artistic endeavors.

𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜: from the other’s pool of 400 tracks, each has selected 50 favs to play with, burnt the playlist in a memory stick - and forgot about it: Tuesday night they’ll play with what they picked from each other’s music, with no chance of listening to it again or rehearsing it.

Will these rules be 🅷🅰🆁🅳 enough for an artist whose career, spanning 2 decades, has mainly revolved around #liveperforming and, therefore, has made of 𝕚𝕞𝕡𝕣𝕠𝕧𝕚𝕤𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟 the main ingredient to a successful recipe? 

@kucera_ancientartefactlive ‘s renowned live sets, marked by raw intensity and improvisational flair, blend a range of moods and styles so varied to push the boundaries of genre - just like his productions. Celebrating this year his 𝟚𝟘𝕥𝕙 as a musician, his impressive discography of originals and remixes has been released in wax and digital format by some of the most distinguished labels in electronic dance music (from Planet Rhythm to Diffuse Reality through Djax Upbeats) as well as by more indie ones or boutique-labels - as himself, as OKF or Ancient Artifact.
His unparalleled creativity and technical prowess have made their way up to parallel musical realms: marking the beginning of the #PunkElectro genre is the brilliant collab with British artist @melatronuk , which sparked the interest of master Laurent Garnier, who’s released them through his alternative label @cod3qr: #modularpunk is a thing not to miss if you enjoy more than run-of-the-mill sound. 

Can 𝔻𝕁𝕚𝕟𝕘 really be improvised? What could potentially not go as planned or expected during a DJ set? This was the conversation that served the pretext for this game - how to convince a musician that has been prolifically producing music for DJs to play with, that by simply shuffling the rules of conventional music playlist making, also DJing can thrive off improvisation? That'll be @delayedsentence ‘s hard task for the upcoming episode.

With a passion for hunting old records, as well as for discovering the sound of the underground scenes of other countries, from Uruguay to Romania, as showcased in his mix sets, he has shaped his own personal sound: mostly deep and melancholic - but sometimes, surprisingly driving - that he expresses through a blend of multiple genres including #House, #Breaks, #Electro and #Techno.

As a DJ, Paramos juggles hypnotic and raw textures with extreme ease, turning darkness into light. His highly energetic blends of groovy and industrial sounds bring together an irresistible style that has earned him to share the booth with several heavyweights. Resident of Pineapple Project events in Amsterdam and a frequent guest of A Coruña's SkyRoom with TN club, he's certain to set any dancefloor on fire.

The first time, 2 months ago, we had a 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 issue for the initial 20 minutes of the #livestreaming - so that Game started off with a foul.
Of course that didn’t set the right mood for what came after, our guest proposed a rematch so, just over a month ago, we renewed the 𝕔𝕙𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕟𝕘𝕖 - but this time, 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 didn’t come out and 𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗲 was recorded either, which we sadly only discovered after the show had 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱.
Here at The Garbage Game we have learned how to survive despite the repeated 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝 𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙚𝙨 (mostly self-caused) - only this one felt totally unacceptable and here we are, launching the challenge again: after all, 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚛𝚍 𝚝𝚒𝚖𝚎 𝚒𝚜 𝚊 𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚖.

But there's more: he’s a founding member of the Damn Techno collective and a Resident DJ with Subliminal, all making him one frequent presence in local line ups.

Hailing from Nijmegen, where his DJ career started, he’s become a familiar name for many clubbers nationwide: from playing all kind of venues around his hometown, he's now relocated to the capital, where he's often seen behind the decks of major clubs like Radion, Bret or LoFi or igniting the dancefloors of bigger events such as Soenda, Vault Sessions and Reaktor.
His remarkable DJ skills have earned him international acclaim, with appearances in Germany, Spain, Italy - and since he’s finally started releasing his own music, the name Comrade Winston has been seen even more frequently: with releases on labels like BCCO, Antidote and ALU, as well as on his own Bandcamp, Lars has solidified his reputation as a producer too. 

An avid vinyl collector, Lars mixes the funk and drive of #oldschoolTechno with the aesthetics and sound design of contemporary Techno: a combination that resonates deeply among dancers and promoters alike, contributing to a more than deserved success that is not set to stop growing anytime soon.

Currently touring in Europe, our next guest comes from a country that, in the past decade has grown a love and a taste for the most underground side of #Techno - and Techno has given back, tightening mutual ties: @planet_x's 2021 VA "100 Years of Colombia" was a monumental compilation of tracks from artists of all weights, put up and released to raise awareness about the situation that had escalated earlier that year, when police responded with violence and brutality to the peaceful and legitimate protests of thousands of civilians against the corruption of the Colombian government and tax raise - an epic anthology whose proceeds were entirely donated to charity organizations across the country.  

It might have been around that time when @IrisLeidenschaft started off her career which, in just 3 years, has brought her to perform with Bogotá's major local collectives, such as Industrial Girls, Sensor, Doom, Klubgeist, Grv Dvsn, or at venues like Antisistema, Radio Berlin, Kaputt, Gate Club, sharing the booth with renowned local and international artists. 
With mixing skills in constant evolution and a contemporary taste that elects mental though groovy rhythms, earlier this year she has founded Nyxxia Movement, a platform that aims to foster support and connection with other female talents - which, of course, we could never be indifferent to!

Join us the coming Tuesday for a special episode: celebrating our host's anniversary with a guest ad-hoc: a long-time friend and a fellow Techno head with an immense knowledge in the subject, @krash has a captivating musical history that began in the UK’s emerging rave culture of the early ’90s, when he started himself as a DJ and event organizer of the Oorpi Techno SoundSystem. For a decade, Krash contributed to shape free parties and illegal raves across the Southwest of the UK, both indoors and outdoors: Oorpi Techno were pioneers in the scene not only for their cutting edge Techno sound but also for the unique atmosphere they created, by installing fresh and new environments at each event, and integrating state-of-the-art computer visuals. Their events made a positive and lasting impression by incorporating the very best in Opus sound reinforcement, becoming so "Technologically Advanced" to set a standard. 
Building on Oorpi’s legacy, the late naughties saw him co-found the infamous DiscoBizKids SoundSystem, a collective of underground techno & acid renegades that for another 10 years hosted free parties and festivals, bringing their distinct style of creative chaos, based on upfront, progressive and hypnotic grooves.

Over the years, Krash has performed for nearly every major techno promoter in the Southwest of the UK and has held a residency with the Off Topic crew at Jaded’s infamous After Hours parties, at Corsica Studios in London. 
Since relocating to the Netherlands, Krash has shifted his focus from mixing to music production, embracing the Dutch lifestyle that has fueled his passion for over 30 years. Krash blends all his past musical experiences into his sound, spanning Ambient to Hardcore and everything in between, with his mixes and productions reflecting the unique journey that has shaped both his sound and his story.

Our guest has been a key presence and a vital part of The Garbage Game, contributing in countless ways to the production of this project since its radio show days - but above all, he’s a prolific and fiercely talented artist with a performing career spanning two decades, backed by a monumental discography.

@OliverKucera, "a man and his machines", is renowned for his live sets, marked by raw intensity and improvisational flair, and for his very own blend of moods and styles so varied to push the boundaries of genre - just like his studio work: his immense catalogue of originals and remixes - on vinyl and digital - includes releases on iconic imprints like Planet Rhythm, Diffuse Reality, and Djax Upbeats, as well as indie and boutique labels, under aliases like OKF and Ancient Artifact.
His unparalleled creativity and technical prowess have made their way up to parallel musical realms: marking the beginning of the #PunkElectro genre is the brilliant collab with Melatron and Ara_U, already released on Laurent Garnier's label COD3 QR: Modular Punk IS a thing not to miss if you enjoy more than run-of-the-mill sound. 
Oliver’s most recent project is @btwn-ntwrx, a hybrid duo with @DelayedSentence, our show host. The two combine forces jamming with a variety of tools and techniques, whose result didn't stay unnoticed for too long and their debut EP, on Tar Hallow, followed shortly after.

The Garbage Game - Ep.1 - The Rundown with Oliver Kucera

After a way too long hiatus, we’re finally back with another guest mix: this time we take a ride away from Techno City to go explore totally different soundscapes - very much in tune with warm and breezy summer evenings.

Our guest for this 2nd podcast episode is Amsterdam-based selector Yakruna.
The name of an Amazonian plant once used in ceremonial infusions makes the alias of @yuri-campagnaro, a 27-year-old vinyl DJ originally from Veneto, Italy and now based in #Amsterdam. With nearly a decade behind the decks, his journey began with two #Technics1210s, a humble two-channel Pioneer mixer, and a deep-rooted love for #House and reggae. Since then, his style has evolved through consistent exploration of psychedelic sounds and the #underground Trance movement across Holland and Belgium.

A resident contributor to the @FlexyHauss project for over a year and a half, Yakruna has been steadily expanding the boundaries of his mixing technique and sound palette. His sets are layered narratives that navigate between dubby textures, electro-inflected grooves with a pinch of trance, always anchored in long, flawless blends. TGGP - Ep2 - Yakruna

In Rhetorics, a delayed sentence is a periodic sentence that aims at keeping the engagement high by withholding the main idea until the very end – a story told by means of intertwined movements is the underlying idea behind Delayed Sentence's every mix.

Italian, she fell for the clubbing scene after moving to Lisbon in the early 2000s. Towards the end of the decade, she co-founded the infamous “B-80’s/Retro Futurism” nights, and under the name Pac Woman, she took booth duties focusing on the electronic dance music of the 80’s.

That eventually led to several residencies in and around Portugal’s capital.
A crate digger with a preference for unknown talents, she’s been a regular dance floor presence internationally for over 2 decades, half of which were spent intermittently behind the booth.
After hanging the headphones for good several times, in 2021 she returned to the decks to finally give vent to her unwavering passion, Techno.

Delayed Sentence’s signature Raw Techno Eleganza encompasses a blend of cutting-edge releases and golden classics, drawn from her ever-expanding vinyl collection. On decks or turntables, her mixing style defies contemporary convention, electing a steadily unstoppable flow that’s tailored for the relentless dance floor.

Mostly fast and dynamic, or more hypnotic at times, her repertoire traverses the many diverse dimensions of Techno, rising from the depth of Dub into the pounding rhythms of Hardgroove, and taking unexpected turns into Electro, Breaks or more psychedelic soundscapes.

First lady of the 8sixA Collective, Delayed Sentence runs The Garbage Game, a former radio show turned podcast, mostly focused on improvisation and genres experimentation, with the mission of showcasing up and coming local and global talent.

She's also the 1/2 of @btwn-ntwrx, a hybrid duo project with @OliverKucera; their debut EP; BRVTL HNST was released on Tar Hallow, Dec. 2024.
