Chemistry 002

For the second entry in my Chemistry mix series, I'm thrilled to have joined forces with Montreal-based selector Mike Haddad to bring you 2+ hours of proper deepness.  Mike holds down a monthly show on friskyRadio, is a resident for Husa Sounds, and has contributed guest mixes to many top notch podcasts, including Mousikē, Schirmchendrink, Elektro Uwe, Magician on Duty and Ethereal Kollektiv.  Our mutual tastes in deep and melodic electronic music made this collaboration a natural choice, and we're feeling the results of our combined efforts on this one.  Mike kicks things off and slowly builds the vibe for the first half and I take the reins around the 1:19:00 mark for the duration.  Hope you all enjoy the journey!

August's mix comes from a place of reflection on travel, thinking about culture and sense of place. Being an outsider looking in, perhaps one can only scratch the surface. But maybe, in another way, experiencing a well-aged surface actually presents a rich, nuanced expression of character, developed deeply over time. Maybe wrinkles, eyes, and smiles tell our stories more honestly than intentions.

Hopefully a bit of that comes thru in this mix, selections with complex, detailed textures, which also feel like expressions of something deeper.
