As it is now customary for us in December, we have now uploaded a new Best of 2025 mix over on the RhythmCast channel for you to enjoy. Featuring previous Premieres, Artists & Lables we followed closely through the year.

After a super busy 2025 for us at Look Busy HQ, we again find ourselves towards the end of 2025 reminiscing about all the great events, record shops & festivals we attended and were lucky to be asked to play at. Being part of the launch of Open Decks Social in Edinburgh alongside The Big Green & Haptic teams has been special to see some emerging talent coming through the ranks too.

We were grateful once again to the artists & labels who allowed us to showcase their releases via our premier service.

Lets not forget that it was another strong year on the guest mix front with a truly global array of talent featured across a range of underground styles of music.

Special thanks to Mark at Disc Break for the continued support with the radio show and trips to Manchester.

Best of 2025 - Resident Mix

'Nyako' is 7th vinyl release at On the Corner and it's a big one. South African producer 'Behr' created 'Nyako' together with Makadem during a Santuri Safari session at Sondeka Festival in Kenya. 
The E.P is 4 cuts that build in brilliance from the original which has extremely broad appeal. Indian producer 'Daisho' delivers a straight ahead 4 x 4 house groover, south-London production duo Modified Man swing their analogue machines into action for a heady synth adventure, which is just a bit broken. Berlin-based duo of Dirk Leyers and DJ Nomad (Hans Reuschl) are the ideal pairing to merge technology and tradition together as AFRICAINE808 bring up the rear with a balearic sensation to round off the EP. 
Makadem is a talented musician and vibrant performing artist from Kenya. He's a figurehead of the Benga scene in Nairobi. His stage presence and powerful vocal delivery, had him likened to the legendary Fela Kuti. Makadem innovates by bringing traditional African instrumentation, story telling and contemporary production methods together.

What better way then to present one of the best kept secrets out there, MLiR aka Modern Life Is Rubbish this time joined by Arnau Obiols, a multi-instrumentalist producer from Barcelona, who has some big upcoming releases under his moniker Velmondo. 

After making a serious impact with their remarkable 'Swedish Lo-Life' and 'Trans-World Junktion', on fellow Swedish label Studio Barnhus, we're thrilled to have MLiR and Arnau onboard together for our 100th release on Local Talk. 

Yes, that is correct, we're celebrating the big 100. Since the very beginning we've covered everything from the deeper shades of house to, the jackin' and the gritty house, released some slower BPMs and also the uplifting, vocal and organic house. As you probably noticed - we love it all. 

The 100th release main track 'Lajbans' is one of those sublime tunes that is bridging the gap between all styles of dance music; it's epic and manages to offer plenty of subtle details to keep you locked for the full 9 minute experience.

Delfonic from Berlin, a busy guy that will hit you with his experienced, flawless flow and the skills of a Hip Hop veteran but an open-minded music taste including soulful grooves from new jazz vibes, underground Disco, American House, Breaks and Afro Grooves.

With a history in digging and an unquestionable love for music, Markus Lindner, a.k.a. Delfonic, is one of the most versatile and informed DJ as they come.

He used to be the key character concerning music knowledge in Berlin. After a long decade at  OYE records store he left the business to become a 100% touring DJ and also to do a series of Dance Jazz Edits (Illegal Jazz) which create a massive buzz in the new house and funky dance world (support from Gilles Peterson, Honey Djoon and many others)

Delfonic applies his broad knowledge of music styles to almost any setting, and is renowned for blending multiple genres, eras and disciplines throughout his sets. An open-minded talent, with an uncompromising approach to DJing, he employs a style schooled from an upbringing in hip-hop. Delfonic is the model DJ - he’ll warm the crowd up, get them dancing and then provide the scope and context that will keep the heads on board.
