Dangerous Goods return to I Travel to You with ‘Wish’, a Street Soul inspired version of a 2001 R&B hit.

Featuring two new synth-driven takes recorded over the summer. The A side grooves over a popping Juno bassline, tight 808 drums, and a fresh vocal. The Deepest Dub mix was re-recorded then cut to tape and pitched down, influenced by the breaks and bass heavy productions of the late 80s and early 90s.

Originally released in South Africa in 1984 and produced by Jabu Sibumbe of Stimela fame. 

Difficult to find on vinyl, which saw only small pressings at the time of release, these works are now remastered and reissued for the first time, for release both on vinyl and digital format. 

This original versions show off some of the glossy disco & boogie-funk vibes that were being produced in South Africa in the mid-eighties, inspired by sounds being imported from the US and Europe at that time.

Joi N'Juno steps up for his first remix on Canopy, channelling the attitude of Quincy & Niles to create a dynamic arrangement that takes the original and reinvents it for modern disco-house dance floors. Live synth, keys and horns add to the crisp and warm production for what looks to become a modern day classic.

Razor N Tapes' JKriv stays truer to the original and with his characteristic production finesse modernises the originals to tastefully update them for contemporary sound systems, bringing just the right balance of past and present to add a new dimension to these boogie gems.

The Patchouli Brothers are best friends bound together by oddities. They share an affinity for the  esoteric side of disco, house, and all other forms of soulful dance music. They hold down a  residency at Beam Me Up, a disco night in Toronto & Montreal, and have had releases on some of their favourite labels like Defected, Nervous, Razor-n-Tape, Soundway, GAMM, Soul Clap, Star 
Creature, Pleasure of Love & Basic Fingers. We are so stoked to have them join us here for their first release on Sosilly and our seventh vinyl release SSE007… Like Bond they delivered nothing short of pure class! 4 x absolute fire cuts that can turn any place upside down. A1. 8x8x8=4 is a percussion monster cut of Sister Sledge cover of ‘Stevie Wonders – As”, A2. Cos I Love U is another bass and drum work out of “Thelma Houston - Don't Know Why”, B1. Who Is That Girl is a heavy disco peak rework of “Andrea True Connection – What’s Your Name”. To round off this epic EP  B2. People take’s all the key 
elements of “Archie Bell - Don't Wait For The World” to take us on a slap bass odyssey.

Delfonic from Berlin, a busy guy that will hit you with his experienced, flawless flow and the skills of a Hip Hop veteran but an open-minded music taste including soulful grooves from new jazz vibes, underground Disco, American House, Breaks and Afro Grooves.

With a history in digging and an unquestionable love for music, Markus Lindner, a.k.a. Delfonic, is one of the most versatile and informed DJ as they come.

He used to be the key character concerning music knowledge in Berlin. After a long decade at  OYE records store he left the business to become a 100% touring DJ and also to do a series of Dance Jazz Edits (Illegal Jazz) which create a massive buzz in the new house and funky dance world (support from Gilles Peterson, Honey Djoon and many others)

Delfonic applies his broad knowledge of music styles to almost any setting, and is renowned for blending multiple genres, eras and disciplines throughout his sets. An open-minded talent, with an uncompromising approach to DJing, he employs a style schooled from an upbringing in hip-hop. Delfonic is the model DJ - he’ll warm the crowd up, get them dancing and then provide the scope and context that will keep the heads on board.
