Samosa Records comes at you with all the elements for Earth, Wind & Funk Vol. 2 – a succulent double slice of vinyl heaven!

On side A1 label favourites Dirty Elements & Drunkdrivers start the party with the knee-slapping treat ‘Koko’. A bouncing bassline and some sweet clavinet keys act as the starters to this trip around the discophere. Lush strings and sassy vocals provide a delicious cherry on top. Mesmerising stuff.

For A2, Macchianera undergoes a De Gama Re-Groove with ‘Gotta Dance’, a deceptive 115bpm chugger that could travel the tracks for an eternity. Deep, groovy bass and soulful vocals combine perfectly in the build-up to the brass-soaked chorus line. Oh, and you know that rhythm guitar is gonna get you.

Side B1 finds Niels F. ‘Trying To Love’ with a little help from some De Gama Re-Drums. ‘Trying To Love’ breaks out into its stride from the off. With an almost ‘2-step’ vibe at the intro, ‘Trying To Love’ nicely builds to a rag time jam of lush strings, smile-inducing brass and a wicked vocal – all applied perfectly and filtered expertly. Let the good times roll!

B2 brings the Afro inspired delights of MP Soundworks and ‘Gotta Get It’. There’s a tribal vibe in the air at this party, a hypnotic runaway train of a track that makes full use of filtered build ups, looped vocal samples and a wicked, wicked bassline. Bouncier than supper-concentrated Zectron.

We are so stoked to have them join us here for their first release on Sosilly and our seventh vinyl release SSE007… Like Bond they delivered nothing short of pure class! 4 x absolute fire cuts that can turn any place upside down. A1. 8x8x8=4 is a percussion monster cut of Sister Sledge cover of ‘Stevie Wonders – As”, A2. Cos I Love U is another bass and drum work out of “Thelma Houston - Don't Know Why”, B1. Jens Brachvogel & Tilo Ciesla aka Studio 54, aka Dole & Kom is probably the most productive producer duo of German underground House Music. They did Disco House with heavy 808 & 909 beats in the mid 90s already – long before it stormed the German dance charts. They've remixed legends like Green Velvet, Black Box or Mateo & Matos or even pop heroes like Marc Almond. Their tunes came out on top tier labels like Nervous, Relief Records, Force Tracks and of course local Formaldehyd and BCC Music from Berlin.

Their Studio 54 project started in 1997 and quickly became their most popular moniker. Due to copyright restrictions they had to rename it „Studio 45“, a name they're still using today. On their „Vol. 2“ record in 1997 they were inspired by Disco and Boogie tunes of the 70s and early 80s that indeed were popular at the famous New York night club.

What makes their tunes unique to this day is their hypnotizing, druggy approach to the original tunes. You never get a cheap, commercial copy, you'll get a mesmerizing mind trip back to the glory days of Disco, seasoned with the best classic drum machines got in them.

Delfonic from Berlin, a busy guy that will hit you with his experienced, flawless flow and the skills of a Hip Hop veteran but an open-minded music taste including soulful grooves from new jazz vibes, underground Disco, American House, Breaks and Afro Grooves.

With a history in digging and an unquestionable love for music, Markus Lindner, a.k.a. Delfonic, is one of the most versatile and informed DJ as they come.

He used to be the key character concerning music knowledge in Berlin. After a long decade at  OYE records store he left the business to become a 100% touring DJ and also to do a series of Dance Jazz Edits (Illegal Jazz) which create a massive buzz in the new house and funky dance world (support from Gilles Peterson, Honey Djoon and many others)

Delfonic applies his broad knowledge of music styles to almost any setting, and is renowned for blending multiple genres, eras and disciplines throughout his sets. An open-minded talent, with an uncompromising approach to DJing, he employs a style schooled from an upbringing in hip-hop. Delfonic is the model DJ - he’ll warm the crowd up, get them dancing and then provide the scope and context that will keep the heads on board.
