Referenced in Daft Punk’s song ‘Teachers’ as one of the ‘Teachers’, Ashley Beedle first began DJing during the 1980s and made a name for himself during the heyday of Acid House, changing the face of Notting Hill Carnival as part of the legendary Shock Sound System – the first sound to play House music at Carnival. 

Since 2015, Ashley has been working as part of the 'North Street West' remix collective with North Street Studio One owner and musical genius, Darren Morris and Ramrock Records/F*CLR boss, Jo Wallace. As well as solo remixes, 2022 already has a plethora of projects underway including the 30 year anniversary and reunion of the legendary Black Science Orchestra – watch this space….

There’s no stopping Third Attempt. As a producer, he continues  garner momentum, releasing records for the likes of Beatservice and Paper Recordings while as a live act he’s been a determinable fixture on Oslo’s stages. It’s not that often we get a chance to see him in the DJ booth these days but for this Jaeger mix he makes the exception.

Delivering a mix as an extension of the sound he creates in the studio and on the stage, Third Attempt offers a deep dive through his musical identity. Elements of funk and soul converge around the meandering pulse of House and syncopated hi-hats, that often dissolve into a broken beat with fragments of vocals echoing in the distance.

Bookended by a couple of EPs the mix comes at a time when Third Attempt is exploring the extent of his creativity as a full time artist and musician. He discusses this era of his career and more in the ensuing interview.

Digging up rare vinyl grooves in the city of gold, DJ Okapi brings a forgotten era of South African pop music back to life...

Specifically the synth-fuelled 80s disco-funk known as bubblegum and the unique house-inspired kwaito grooves of the early 90s, connecting them to their contemporaries in other parts of Africa and its diaspora.

Manchester born original house head, Nick V has been a DJ in Paris since 1994. His reputation has grown with the success of the residencies he helped to establish since 2003 in the French capital :  Guys & Dolls, Otra Otra, Ballroom and today Mona, which he founded  in 2008.
He also runs Mona Musique a record label he founded to showcase the House Music sound that is featured at his residency of the same name.
Over 25 years of digging, and more than 2 years in curation. Nick V’s debut compilation pays homage to forgotten gems of the classic Italian House scene, circa 1991-1993. The compilation named "House of Riviera", is stunning 8 tracks comp from the golden era of Italian house Music.
