The "MEDUSA Ep" was released by Rodion on Roccodisco and contains two unique gems: "MEDUSA" and "SOLENOID". 
The tracks have now been reworked and dubbed by Alien Alien (the combo of Rodion himself and the DJ Hugosan). The relationship between Rodion and Alien Alien has been indefinable, ever since their "SAMBACA" anthem: osmosis, inspiration, metamorphosis. 
Here Alien Alien take Rodion's electronic glamour vision to a whole different level: slower, dirtier and even druggier. BPMs at around 100... 


MEDUSA - Caribbean Alien Alien dub 
With hypnotic vocals from DJs Pareja (Comeme/Turbo), the original anthem Medusa is fed to the darkest of Caribbean nights, where primitive cumbia, scary voodoo and tribal magic melt into one in a freaky dance ritual.

SOLENOID - Pluviale Alien Alien dub
The pluviale dub of Solenoid carries you into a wet and slow trip: a psychedelic moombaton piece originating from a forgotten sound system somewhere along the Amazon river . 

SOLENOID - Interstellar Alien Alien dub 
The interstellar dub of Solenoid lifts us up through obscure planets and nebulas: hypnotic cosmic dust waves, which ride the tightest of Alien grooves. 

This music is the sound of the mystic on the dance floor, where body and groove become one.

Out on 'Beating Heart - South Africa Vol. 2', a 4 track EP featuring Auntie Flo, Subjective (Goldie's new project with JD from Ulterior Motive), Card on Spokes and The Happy Show.

Following the debut Malawi album​ last year, this next series of Beating Heart releases focuses on the vibrant sounds of South Africa, sampling field recordings made by Hugh Tracey back in the 1950s, with kind permission from the International Library of African Music.

Profits from the series will be used to support:​ the Women's Legal Centre, a group of female lawyers striving for gender equality across South Africa, particularly for black women, whose work has had a huge impact on the country's laws, and continues to do so; and the Access Music Project in Grahamstown where students will be able to learn production skills through remixing field recordings from the ILAM ​archive, learning about their heritage in the process.

Beating Heart will be performing​ summer festival takeovers at Glastonbury, Womad, Port Eliot, Boomtown, Obonjan (Croatia) and Secret Garden Party, with events in Malawi, South Africa and Uganda planned for the autumn.

Thanks to previous​ support, the 'Beating Heart - Malawi' album ​(Rudimental, Kidnap Kid, Clap! Clap!, Luke Vibert, Afriquoi & more) ​h​as​ funded the setting up of a sustainable school feeding program in Lilongwe, now feeding 450 kids once a day. More info at www.beatingheartproject.com

Old time friend of the label and major artist of the downtempo scene of the South of France, Fred Berthet is signing Global Warming latest release. Much respected for his works as DJ Steef, Copyshop or Troublemakers (with DJ Oil & Arnaud Taillefer), he delivered us two downtempo acid jams, filled with sexual tension, seeping walls and slow orgy. It also features remixes from our all-time favorites Italian balearic band, Mushrooms Project, who sends us back a superb organic and solar vision or the original track and on the opposite, Global Warming’s founder Malcolm (@mmaallccoollmm), signing a bestial and deliciously obscure cover. Malcolm Mitchell’s Global Warming Records is a self-proclaimed outlet for “discoholics” and multi-cultural geeks. The three projects they’ve released are a collection of songs emanating a cosmic, often tribal, synth heavy analog disco sound. The latest release from Marseille based producer Fred Berthet (aka. DJ STEEF), an old time friend of the label and major artist of the downtempo scene in the South of France, fits a similar mold. The EP, similar to its artwork, is filled with a slow, sexual tension heightened by slow, driving rhythms and hypnotic acid bass lines.

Included in the EP is a remix from Italian balearic duo, Mushrooms Project (Giorgio Giri and Marco Lentano), who have crafted a superbly organic and deeply drugged out mid tempo burner that seems to call on numerous Ibiza sunrises for inspiration. Freaky, mesmerizing synth work take the listener on a trip to acid islands where steady bass permeates through thick fog over glistening percussive sequences. Its driving rhythms make the track feel faster than it is. This is a much appreciated form of trickery in down-tempo productions. Slow burners that make you dance hard are not easy to make.

The EP, and 100 limited edition copies of the naughty cover art illustrated by Ben Hubbard and printed on 420 x 594 mm poster, 250g heavy matte paper is available to purchase via GWR’s Bandcamp page. Hey fellas, almost 3 years after the last Global Warming Edits, we're back with 2 dancefloor burners. First, the ultimate camping dj peak time tune "La Macarena", goes deep and satanic with a dark dub edit from the parisian mate @beigebeige. And then the superb hindu electronic curiosity "Greatest Names That Lives", sung by Lata Ramasar and produced and recorded by her father the incredible Kissoon Ramasar goes into a climax breakbeat tune edited by our hypno-techno producer friend from Pisa, @lorenzo-magnozzi. Hope it gets your local dancefloor into a heater or just make you have a good time.

Laima, announces the conceptual double vinyl debut album 'Home' to be released on November 8th 2019 via DEEWEE & The Vinyl Factory. Featuring beats from Iggor Cavalera and production from the Dewaele brothers. 

There are two key elements that make ‘Home’ such a distinctive project. Thematically it explores how the two core contrasts that inform Laima’s life can coexist. On one hand it’s about domesticity – her love for her family and her frustration with domestic routine. Yet on the other, it’s about her creativity – her desire to express herself artistically while still tending to her role as a mother and a housewife.  

“It's almost like a family photo album in another format,” says Laima. “I needed to find the balance in this dichotomy, to feel good with myself in both roles, and be aware of things that really mattered to me. To be a woman, a mum and a female producer: all of these feelings were in the music.”

Sonically, ‘Home’ is also a striking proposition. It’s a package which features two records that are designed to be played simultaneously: Laima’s vocal and synth tracks on the ‘TONAL’ disc alongside Iggor’s beats on the ‘RHYTHMICAL’ record. Syncing two records offers an unconventional way to experience the music. Rather than passively hearing the music, the listener’s need to ritualistically sync both records makes for an immersive experience.

LAIMA 'HOME'

The album "Totems & Tabous" (TNT for intimates) is an odyssey whose first step was taken a decade ago with the release of the song "Fate (l’obsession)" on the Marseille label La dame Noir records (LDN Records N°01). 
Abandoning his nickname to appear under his "baptismal" name, Fred Berthet composed the instrumental. With refinement, Fred takes us into his eclectic and prodigiously rich musical universe. We find here the quality of composition of the troublemaker which appears refined, voluptuous, dark and throbbing like a boa going up the spine. The gently hypnotic bass lines combined with the accuracy and intelligence of the arrangements, where each element has found its place, force you to listen and respect. 
Snem K.'s lyrics and voices dress this opus with a false simplicity. Playing on words and senses as some people play with a knife, the singer hits right on target. The verb is ironic, balanced, heavy in meaning and light in appearance. Rewriting the genesis as an apocryphal text, the author sets the tone from the introduction. To our lost paradises!
