Growing up in the deep south of Germany with multi ethnic friends and big interest in many different music genres of the world, Borrowed Identity built his wide knowledge in music. This variety in his musical taste is also the reason why he is working under different aliases producing a big variety of sound from ambient to house to experimental music and everything inbetween. Borrowed Identity debut EP on Quintessentials is another great example for his multistyle approach to music. You’ll find elements of house, disco, techno, ambient and more – always with an imminent love for music. Borrowed Identity released his first 12” inc. a Mark E remix on Foul&Sunk last year. That was just the start of an impressive career we dare to say. Borrowed Identity is a music freak and works very fast on tracks. Guy Gerber's Supplement Facts, Traveller Records (Finland), the Legendary Sound Research, Stripped & Chewed (Chicago), Catz N Dogz Pets Recordings and soon Mistress all released some splendid Borrowed Identity tunes. Having entered a new phase of his career in 2014 propelled by a move to Brooklyn, the nomadic producer continues to develop a hugely impressive discography that’s included remixes for Herbert, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Funkadelic and MJ Cole as well as four full-length LPs and numerous EPs on labels such as Peacefrog, Planet E and Sonar Kollektiv. 

‘Honey Rocks’ brings together three deftly structured dancefloor tracks. Jesse Futerman takes to the Sounds Of Beaubien Ouest (SOBO) imprint for the first time to release the 'Waterzone' EP, which features the smooth grooving house ballad of a title track.

Futerman linked with a collection musicians in Beverly Glenn-Copeland on vocals, Chris Edmondson on saxophone and Stacey Shopsowitz on bass to showcase a new side to his artistry with the 'Waterzone' EP. The result is a collection of three tracks that fuse intricate organic arrangements. As a whole, it's an incredibly beautiful release, one primed for a summer dance.

The 'Waterzone' EP is set for release August 24.

Premiere: Jesse Futerman 'Waterzone'

The Premise EP delivers three originals, each with a hint of soulful, old-school New York House, but with a fresh style and unique character. Finishing the EP is an eccentric and vibey DJ Nature remix. This release marks the start of a new musical path for the duo and we hope they have a lot more music to share with the world.
The title track “The Premise” has a special meaning for them: It’s named after the London studio/café ‘The Premises’ where they had their first studio sessions together following a chance meeting at a Peckham party they were both playing. The track is a moody but high-energy jam filled with Rhodes licks, vocal chops and some lovely string work.
