Parisian producer @Kool-Vibe returns to his vinyl only imprint to deliver four NYC inspired house cuts.
An enthusiast of house since the ‘90s, Kool Vibe acquired a taste for the genre at the renowned Boy’s club courtesy of legends such as DJ Deep and Laurent Garnier. He started producing himself a decade ago, with his debut releases landing on My Love Is Underground and Traxx Underground in 2011 and 2012 respectively. A year later saw the launch of his KV Records, a platform primarily for his own material whilst also hosting the likes of Alex Agore, Inner Sense, Sunny Galaxy and Washerman.

Alex Warren, AKA Kiwi, debuts on Futureboogie for the label’s closing release of the year.  With previous releases on labels like Optimo Music, Blasé Boys Club and Sneaky Music, the versatile producer serves up four tracks of deep and driving underground goodies.

The London based producer/DJ has genre hopped with ease over the last few years, building up an impressive arsenal of productions and remixes.  He has been called upon to reshape for artists like The Klaxons, Duke Dumont and Bonar Bradberry, and his music has been warmly received and supported by Andrew Weatherall, Daniel Avery, Erol Alkan and many more.

On his Futureboogie release, Kiwi blends energetic Italo styles on lead track ‘Orca’, whilst ‘Minke’ fuses gnarly technoid house with deft melodies and soft touches.  The spatial synths of ‘Logman’s Break’ create a highly infectious earworm of a track and the brass melodies freestyle over a sturdy production, whilst the closing ‘Pygmy’ gets spaced out with tweaking acid bass and moon stomping beats.

CLÆP THAT brings together sounds from  familiar CLÆP friends as well as some new faces in a record that is reminiscent of the classic detroit house sound, mixed with something newer, yet simultaneously more lo-fi and analog .

You can expect to hear textural, analog jams from artists such as Jesus Moses, Yot Nam, and composer/producer Matti Julius, who infuses his classical training into this previously unreleased main room groover, Moules Gratinees. Maltitz and Nicola Brusegan bring the synth-heavy, emotional vibes whilst Sischke’s tribal influenced track Najuma and a hypnotic slice of minimalism from Ion Vulcan represent the more percussive side of house.  Not to mention a delicious acid laden roller from Derek and DJLo.

This is EP is pure house party and sunset vibes, guaranteed to get you ready for a long night of dancing.
