After debuting as Pool Boy in 2018, Canadian producer Cyril Hahn is back with his second record under the newer moniker. Rising to prominence via some pitch shifted and earworm-y remixes almost a decade ago, his sound began to naturally evolve in the studio. Thus, Pool Boy was born. His identity started to take on more of a sun-kissed and bubbly persona, perhaps even taking influence from some of Vancouver's west-coast sound pioneers such as the Mood Hut crew. 

Pool Boy's debut came on London's Coastal Haze, an apt home for his new vibrant and sometimes off-kilter sound. His follow-up comes on French imprint Noire et Blanche, sub-label of Délicieuse Records, who themselves have been quiet for a couple of years. "All Inclusive" is the title and would be the perfect record to listen to while sipping on a tropical drink and laying on the beaches of a resort down south. Something tells us he had the same idea. 

Our premiere today is "Pool House" which features another Canadian and Coastal Haze alum, Pacific Coliseum. Perhaps the most upbeat track on the record, it's also a little more versatile, fitting both in a nice warm-up set or just during a listening session. The rubbery bassline and harder hitting claps give it more of a clubby flair while the overall ambience itself is easygoing. Moody synths add to the already emotional atmosphere set by the chords. 

The rest of the album trends to a brighter sound and we highly recommend a listen to it all in one go as it's a perfect warm weather appetizer. To top it off there's also a little remix package featuring Khotin, Gooch and Domenique Dumont. Be sure to get your hands on this one!

PREMIERE: Pool Boy - Pool House Feat. Pacific Coliseum

Hard to believe it’s been 3 years since Jungle Fire first graced the RNT Catalog, and now the west coast boys of summer are back with a 5-track remix EP of varied Latin soul funk vibes, reimagined by a stellar cast of remixers. On the A-side, Colombian juggernaut Felipe Gordon takes Atómico fully nuclear with a stomping bass-heavy house remix, and JKriv goes elektrik with his Elektrikossa dub that sprinkles dubbed out and acid elements over a pulsating rubbery groove. On the flip, turntablist Nu-Mark delivers a punchy breakbeat take on Atómico, Jungle Fire member Patrick Bailey goes full-on boogie vibes with his Snake In Da Bronx Dub of La Kossa, and the record winds down with the dubby halftime flavor of Samual Miles remix of Biri Biri. Whether in the open-air club, block party or rooftop, this record is the sound of summer 2021!

Unearthing lost gems from deep underground is RFX’s speciality. With regular releases on his own imprint Fauve Records based in Hong Kong, we saw it fit for RFX to grace us with 4 edits from the beyond for our first On Point Worldwide Edits series. The first track is a heavy boogie electro beat with a lovable crackling sound, a very rare tune found in the UK attics with a lot of luck. Following this is a groovy Italo influenced jam with a bouncy feeling, perfect for those weirdos to do their thing on the dance-floors. The third is a Kwaito edit with the simplest of flute melodies and a raw beat that gets you hooked in the first 30 seconds. Add a splash of acid to the track and you get a late-night anthem. Last but not least, a choppy break-beat style track with Indian percussions & dark heavy bass for all those sweaty clubs.

Nashville's dusty funkateers Magic In Threes return to RNT Reserve with a triptych of low-strung grooves, each complimented by a superlative remix. Chupa Cabra, a sweet soulful joint, is reimagined as a devilishly pulsating and funky burner by RNT mainstays @justsayfouk on their remix. Parisian @patchworks takes the 70s-cop-show funk of Work Tapes straight to Nigeria with a beautifully crafted highlife remix. Finally there's Come On Down, reminiscent of classic Donald Byrd in the Larry Mizell days, which is beefed up and readied for the dance floor by analog wizard @lay-far.
