SIRS returns to his own Sirsounds Records imprint with arguably his most evocative work to date, serving two sumptuous original compositions on the searingly personal 'Moments Of Life EP’.  
Berlin-based musical polymath Daniel Klein is SIRS (Sounds In Real Stereo), and his project has won over an abundance of admirers across the dance underground in recent years, with DJ Harvey, Sean Johnston, Palms Trax, and Roman Flügel just some of those regularly championing his far-reaching sounds. He's produced and remixed for benchmark labels including Public Possession, Live at Robert Johnson, Compost, Future Disco, and Music for Dreams, and has been drafted to remix artists as diverse as 2raumwohnung and Ennio Morricone. His latest release arrives on the label he launched in 2017 to provide a home for his effervescent output as well as choice titles and remixes from the likes of Lovebirds, Tiger & Woods, and Residentes Balearicos among others.
'Moments Of Life' begins with an emotionally charged tribute to his former lover, Anna, who tragically passed away on May 1st, 2021 following a battle with cancer. Named after the Russian word for Istanbul, 'Stambul (The Flowers Of The Garden)' reminisces of treasured time the pair spent in their “city of love” during the throes of the pandemic. With most borders closed, Istanbul was the only place they could travel to from their respective homes in Moscow and Berlin. The music vividly conjures surreal moments they spent wandering the deserted streets of the usually bustling city – memories SIRS earnestly channels in the song's powerfully emotive intro.
Providing vocals on 'Stambul' is Stockholm-based poet, singer and songwriter Aino, whose 'Gingko' track – released by her two-piece Askel & Aino – was a favourite of Daniel and Anna's. Her bewitching vocal glides over a sumptuous backing track of delicately woven instrumentation, with haunting string solos soaring over Latin guitar as infectious slap bass and live drums maintain the groove. The profoundly beautiful song arrives in three iterations, with the 'Instrumental Version' allowing the intricate musicality to take centre stage while the 'Radio Edit' should ensure Klein's heartfelt message is heard far and wide.  Completing a stunning release, the life-affirming waves of 'Marimar' serve as a gorgeously fitting counterpoint to the EP's introspective mood. Set to a stirring tempo, shimmering synth melodies saunter across a crisp disco rhythm as optimistic bass notes and emotive chords combine for a sublime yet discreetly poignant dancefloor celebration.
This most intimate of releases sees SIRS lays his soul bare while displaying staggering range. The results are nothing short of enchanting

The 25th release to come from Footjob, we are looking on a delicious eight track compilation which is guaranteed to bring heat to the dancefloors. Footure Classics Vol. 3 combines the label’s beloved quality sound of our resident artists and also welcomes a few new faces. The opener “Carry On” is delivered by The Dead Rose Music Company and sets the pace right away showcasing some good old on-point sample work. Head honcho Phonk D contributes two danceable collaborative tracks with Van Aachen (“Make A Change”) and Sascha Ciminiera (“Ortona Sunset”). Siggatunez and Rolf Royce also opt for a joint tune called “What We All Want” – a dreamy, yet still banging anthem for those special moments in the morning hours. Exploring new musical grounds, Lukas Lehmann puts his synths into heavy action for a stomping acidy approach, ironically dubbing it “No Sir, I Can’t Acid”. For those into Nu Disco Claus Casper serves his inciting and fun “Spaghetti Eyes” while Disco Sour provide a contemporary edit based on a 40-year-old classic. The compilation is rounded off by Most Haunted, who gently takes us back to 80s vibes with his "Timemachine", without missing to give the whole thing a modern twist.

Hailing from Guadalajara, Mexico, Hotmood has been quietly constructing a dedicated fandom after successful inter-continental tours and timeless, boogie-inspired club cuts released to the world via imprints Whiskey Disco, Tugboat Edits, and his own label, Hotmood Records. We’re thrilled to be premiering his new track, “Good Old Days” which will appear on De La Groove’s Blazing Waves Summer compilation.

To put it simply, this track is six minutes of pure sunshine. Hotmood lays a solid rhythmic foundation in the opening bars, gracing listeners with the punchy, animated kicks, snares, and hi-hats for which his disco edits have become known. Rounding out the ensemble, a guitar lick, slap bass, and electric piano tangle themselves into a bright, feel-good melody accented with playful drum fills and the occasional brass punctuation. Though the intermittent vocal sample calls us to reminisce about, “the good old days,” I imagine countless situations, perhaps sitting poolside with a margarita in hand, when this track will actively construct those days in the right here, right now. A perfect tune for the first month of Summer, be sure to keep Hotmood on your short list of disco heavy-hitters.
