It's So Simple

This is one of the tracks from the very new album "SORRY! WE DID SOMETHING WRONG" that happened to be a debut release on @Simple-Symmetry's own label "NEW EARS".

This song started with the simple gamma played on the «gendèr» (you can hear this bell sound on 02:18 and a couple of times more during the track ) - it’s a type of metallophone used in Balinese and Javanese traditional gamelan music. We bought this instrument when we visited Bali and this is exactly that sort of case when the sound of one specific instrument inspires you to build the whole musical story around. Then followed the drum machine with live percussion jam on top, a bass and a bit detuned melody played on Moog with Roland Space Echo. The song starts with the spoken word by our friend C.A.R. (she reads the mantra from Frank Herbert’s Dune) and then goes the beautiful vocal melody created and performed by Lord Fascinator - an amazing Australian musician living in New York.

On remix duties we have an upcoming talent from Amsterdam - Marijn S. With a release on SPRAY this year, DEKMANTEL festival booking and several other things coming she's one to keep an eye on.

XXX015 consists of 6 tracks on digital format. 5 originals and one remix.

We've never been the label to put things in a genre but to describe these tracks with words is even hard this time. Menacing, out of this world sounds alternate with industrial EBM sounds. One thing is for sure, these tracks will make a lasting impression on the dancefloor.

Belgium’s music scene has few cornerstones. R&S set a first in the 80s, Soulwax came in the 90s and Eskimo emerged in the early 00s, its evolution since more colourful than all of them combined. Taking music into emotion, introducing new names and spotlighting the cream of the current crop, ‘The Orange Collection’ is bright, genial and buoyant. 

‘The Orange Collection’ is the latest installment in a new compilation series on Eskimo based around colours. Following the lauded first three chapters in this enterprising series -Pink, Blue and Green- Eskimo once again selected 12 songs with exquisite care.
