When writing music, I often find it difficult to get beyond the writer's block and anxiety that comes with the pressure I put on myself to make something worth listening to. This song addresses those obstacles and how I'm able to overcome them. When I'm struggling with the beginning stages of writing or producing a song I begin to overthink and second-guess my ability, creating an endless cycle of unfinished songs. "Choose Happy" was written and produced in September of 2021 but wasn't recorded, mixed, or mastered until January of 2022 -- ironically making this one of the examples of songs sitting and collecting dust in the "unfinished" folder on my desktop.
