Verse 1 - John 4:5-7
He came to a city of Samaria
Where Jacobs well stood
Jesus sat thus by the well, 
The heat of the sun was sure

Along came a woman of Samaria
In her thirst to draw water
“Give me a drink”
Jesus said to her

Chorus 1 - John 4:9-10
“How is it that you
Being a Jew
Ask a drink from me
A Samaritan woman?”

Jesus answered “if you knew
what is the gift of God for you
And who it is that you spoke to 
You would have asked Him
He would give you water that lives”

Verse 2 - John 4:11-12
The woman said to Him
“Sir you have nothing to draw with
Where then do you get that
Living water

Are you greater than 
our father Jacob
Who gave the well 
and drank from it himself”

Chorus 2 - John 4:13-14
Jesus said to her
“Whoever drinks from this will thirst
But whoever drinks of the water 
That I shall give him

He will never thirst
But the water that I shall give
Will become in him a fountain of
Water springing up 
Into everlasting life”

In my throbbing heart I have hid Your place,
Deep in my bosom is Your dwelling place.

I have forsaken the world and its pleasures,
And abandoned all so I may live with You.

I have no desire, nor passion, nor
Have I a thought but to follow You.

And my father Jacob I know his secret,
Now I know how he chased after you.

O kind-heart O how sweet are You!
Mighty and exalted glorious above all

O mighty one with a whip in Your palm,
as Your heart overflows with love for all mankind.

The world is not enough to contain all of You,
How then could my heart compose all of You.

I have forsaken the world and all of its pleasures,
And abandoned all so I may live with You.

Lord, I have deserted all but not You,
In the sojourn of my life I have none but You.

And my thoughts I've prevented from wandering
So where ever You are there my thoughts also

I have forgotten family and my friends,
And even forgot myself for Your love.

I forgot them all in love of You.
O joy of my heart, so don't forget Your child.

You are not far from my soul that awaits
Your visiting call in the calm silence.

Coptic Orthodox Christian youth from around the country have collaborated to put together this collection of psalms in the format that they were meant to be prayed – as songs. We hope that you find a psalm for every season of your life – for times of hope and encouragement, times of despair and crying out to God, times of joy, and times of praise.

We pray that God may bless everyone who contributed and that His beautiful words may soften our hearts towards His immeasurable love for us. Look forward to more psalms being added in the future.
