Delights imprint continues its venture in way-out cinematic grooves with a debut 45 from Oregano - a new collaboration between Shawn Lee, Paul Elliott (JetTricks, Eleven76, Hot Border Special), Shay Landa (RPS Surfers) and Markey Funk.

Taking advantage of the Tel Aviv premiere of "The Library Music Film", the four minds had met spontaneously in the studio to jam together, while switching between drum-kit, bass, Vox Continental organ, a rare MinitMoog and Soviet Polivoks synths. It took another year and a global pandemic for the first tracks to start taking shape, and, with further addition of special spicing from Shawn and Paul and a flute lead by Shay's bandmate, Roey Bar Yehuda, Oregano's first slice of otherworldly sci-fi library funk has materialized:

"Melting Sand" features Paul on drums, Shawn on bass, Shay on Polivoks and Markey on organ. It's a meditative, almost krauty, slow-burner, drenched in organ drones and deep synth pulses.

On "Transmitter", the four swap places (Shawn on drums, Shay on bass, Markey on Polivoks and Paul on MinitMoog) and shift in a quirkier and more uplifting (yet still - quite out-there) direction.

Four years after their first 45, Group Modular returns to Delights with a new synth-heavy double-sider.

Just like the last year's single "The Tunnel", the new release is following the path taken on the duo's highly-acclaimed second full-length, "Time Masters" - with both sides based on more material from the album's initial drum sessions. However, don't call them 'outtakes' or 'leftovers', as these are brand new tracks that see Markey Funk and Mule Driver exploring and expanding their sonic palette even further.

The new 7'' also concludes 10 years of the band's drum-centric sci-fi sound: the bass-heavy and spiky "Per Aspera" ("Through Hardships") features Elia Yakin on the kit, while spacy and dramatic "Ad Astra" ("To the Stars") welcomes the duo's long-time collaborator - Sagi Sachs.

Delights label is wrapping up the year 2022 with yet another two-sided treat from the restless minds of Shay Landa and Markey Funk.

The concept behind Voxatone is very simple: exploring the sound qualities of vintage instruments with "vox" in their name. The first result is an otherworldly meeting between the 1950s Univox keyboard, the 60s Vox Continental organ and the 80s Soviet Polivoks synthesizer. Recorded at Mazkeka Studios, Jerusalem, with Elia Yakin on drums (the only "non-vox" instrument involved), Shay and Markey are joined by Estonia's man of many hats, Misha Panfilov, on Vox Phantom bass for two groovy psych cuts: the mid-tempo mind-bender "Figure I.108" and the upbeat floor-stormer "Figure III.122" - on the flip.

Delights is riding into 2023 with a new cinematic funk double-sider that brings together some of the label's regulars.

Connecting the dots within the Delights' ever-expanding musical universe, Pyrope is a studio collaboration between Paul Osborne (Project Gemini), Paul Elliott (Oregano/Eleven76/The Library Music Film), Yael Lavie ("Silk and Gunpowder"/Leviot) and the label's head confectioner, Markey Funk. On their first 7'', the four are channelling the spirit of the 1960s European thrillers to create two dramatic upbeat cuts - "The Duel" and "Broken Spell" - that blend sinister crime funk with eerie folk horror psychedelia.

SimfOnyx return to Delights with a new genre-bending double-sider.

The Haifa-Jerusalem duo SimfOnyx (Shuzin and Markey Funk) is unleashing another pair of tunes recorded in the same session as their previous instalment, "Der Maulwurf/Eolomea". Just like on their earlier releases, the two continue expanding their sound, crossing and connecting different genre territories under the wide umbrella of cinematic, psych-spiked grooves. This time, Markey and Shuz are channelling the free spirit of West German library kings Klaus Weiss and Peter Thomas to reflect on current political events in their home country. The dark and dubby slow-burner "Putsch. Teil Eins" ("Coup. Part One") is backed by the aggressive floor-smashing funk of "Widerstand" ("Resistance") on the flip.

On its 25th release, the Delights label welcomes a new collaboration between funk and psych enthusiasts from different ends of the globe.

Mozaik Ses is a result of a spontaneous studio jam between members of the Tel-Aviv-based funk combo VuVuVu, the pioneering Munich legend JJ Whitefield (The Poets of Rhythm, Karl Hector & the Malcouns), and Delights head honcho, Markey Funk. Together, they've cooked two pieces of scorching eastern-flavoured groove: the hypnotic "Aralkum", named after the youngest desert on Earth, and the menacing upbeat floor-killer "Zellij".

With his first release in seven years, Hector (a.k.a. Simon Hill, MNP bassist) continues to explore the cinematic groove world, pioneered on his debut album "Sunbeam Insulin" (Tru Thoughts, 2011).  This time, however, the spaced-out synthesizers made way for a rawer and even jazzier sound, provided by Hill's ensemble of long-time musical allies.
