Ghostek//VVV//Correspondences

Ghostek graced Shipwrec in 2011 with the excellent Easy Changes. Now the Russian producer returns to the Dutch imprint with two tracks for Deep Sound Channel. A steady drum pattern introduces the mysteriously shrouded “The Morning After.” Toms are hollowed out as persistent percussion builds into a lonesome and windswept plateau of otherworldly aspects. Ambient spills into Techno for this cerebral spiral of sounds. “2.5 Miles Abyss” steals the listener below matted waves. Melodies blur, harmonies washing out of focus as aural layers lap overhead. Northern skies of solid permanence shift against cylindrical coils and lost vocals as immense pressures rise and fall under Ghostek’s omnipresent control.

Slovakian techno knight Kepikei returns to Top Billin with 4 killer cuts. 

As a label, we mainly concentrate on the more ghetto-ed out sounds of club music and take pride in not diving too deep, because we want to keep things on the party aspective, but with Kepikei we make an exception. Don't get us wrong, this ep is full party material but it dives much more deeper than that. Inspired by the Berlin and Detroit techno culture, still yet enough London to have the hints of garage and bass music in the mix, this is a wonderful combination of club sounds we love. 

Originally from Slovakia and now residing in Los Angeles, Kepikei has already released 2 ep's on Top Billin and Voodoo Village, and he runs his own Sonic District imprint, concentrating on the sinister sounds of dance music. His tracks have been supported by a wide range of DJs and features at DJ Mag and Do Androids Dance have solidified this East European producers reputation as one of the most interesting guys in the warehouse techno scene. 

Like said, we don't often drop deep music on the label, so when we do you should expect it to be something out of the box as it is the case this time again. Happy listening.

TSUKUYOMI god of the mood ; Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto was the second of the "three noble children" born when Izanagi-no-Mikoto, the god who created the first land, Onogoro-shima, was cleansing himself of his sins while bathing himself after escaping the underworld and the clutches of his enraged dead wife, Izanami-no-Mikoto. Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto was born when he washed out of Izanagi-no-Mikoto's right eye .However, in an alternate story, Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto was born from a mirror made of white copper in Izanagi-no-Mikoto's right hand. After climbing a celestial ladder, Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto lived in the heavens, also known as Takamagahara, with his sister Amaterasu Omikami, the sun goddess. Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto angered Amaterasu Omikami when he killed Uke Mochi, the goddess of food. Amaterasu Omikami once sent Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto to represent her at a feast presented by Uke Mochi. The goddess made the food by turning to the ocean and spitting out a fish, then facing the forest and game
came out of her mouth, and finally turned to a rice paddy and coughed up a bowl of rice. Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto was utterly disgusted by the fact that, although it looked exquisite, the meal was made in a disgusting manner, and so he killed her .Soon, Amaterasu Omikami learned what happened and she was so angry that she refused to ever look at Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto again, forever moving to another part of the sky. This is the reason that day and night are never together. In later versions of this myth, Uke Mochi is killed by Susanoo-no-Mikoto. .
