WPP stands for Witness Protection Program — a labour of love and a lab for incubating lovely music. Since 2021, it has operated as a space for artists who wish to remain anonymous and release music they might not be able to share otherwise. A Workshop for Phantom Producers, where the focus stays on sound, not identity.

Alien Bells revolves around a synthesized metallic motif that climbs and dips in pitch, generating a steady sense of motion through unfamiliar terrain. The track feels suspended in low gravity, with each percussive chime echoing like a coded transmission from elsewhere. Drawing from dub, krautrock, new disco, and acid, without sounding quite like any of these, it’s a mind-altering belter built for adventurous dancefloors.

For Zander Hay - better known as @theburrellconnection - music has always been as much about people as it is about sound. His new EP for @craigie-knowes, 'I Waste My Time So You Don’t Have To', arrives as the label marks its 10th anniversary, a milestone that means more to him than most. Not only has Zander released music with the Glasgow-born imprint, he’s also been quietly running their PR from behind the scenes since the early days, helping to tell their story to the world.

That dual role makes this release feel like a full-circle moment. The EP gathers together material shaped in the club, in the bedroom, and most importantly, in the company of friends. Lead cut “E Before I” has already been heard echoing through Berlin basements, including in a live version taken from Zander’s performance at Tresor, invited by LNS and DJ Sotofett. The B-side heads deeper, pairing the dubbed-out force of “Celestial” with the warm, widescreen pads of “Ensemble” - tracks that carry what he half-jokingly calls his “signature sound,” something he’s been chiselling away at for over a decade.

Zander speaks candidly about the title of the record, pointing to the endless hours spent in pursuit of something original. He’s unflinching in his criticism of DJs hiding IDs or passing off other people’s tracks as their own - a reminder that, for him, credit and community go hand in hand. “Music is not a luxury, it’s an essential,” he insists, and it’s clear that ethos drives not just his own practice, but also the way he moves through the scene.

That scene has taken him from Glasgow, where he cut his teeth at La Cheetah Club and soaked up records at Rubadub, to Berlin, where he now co-runs Slurp of the Antics with Valcat - a party deliberately centred on live performance in a city often saturated with DJ culture. Between the drizzle-soaked after-hours of Scotland and the intensity of Berlin’s underground, he has carved out a practice that feels both grounded and exploratory, rooted in place yet open to evolution.

At the heart of it all is Craigie Knowes. For Zander, the label’s story is bound up with his own - from being pushed creatively by deadlines and honest feedback, to finding genuine friendship with Max, Mitch and the wider CK family. “Friendship!” he says without hesitation when asked about the most rewarding part of his journey so far. That word runs like a thread through his reflections: from teenage trips to Sub Club on borrowed IDs, to afterhour residencies, to the countless connections made through music over the years.

As he sets up a new studio, offers tuition, and continues to develop his live shows, Zander isn’t slowing down. 'I Waste My Time So You Don’t Have To' is more than a title; it’s a snapshot of where he’s at right now - committed, outspoken, and still finding joy in the graft. For him, the story of Craigie Knowes at 10 isn’t just about a label’s legacy, but about the friendships that make the music possible.

Across six tracks, a dream unfurls into sound – patterns emerging like scattered water droplets, a flowing dance of chance and texture.
For Turmalin Dub, Tom of Terram (an alias of Tom Sprenger, one half of Hektisch Sprengen) teams up with Listensport. This EP flourishes in the fertile space between the organic and the synthetic, where textures breathe and rhythms pulse like living beings. It is shaped by five original creations and a ’90s-inspired French Dreamspell house remix by RAMZi, carrying the timeless spirit of the dancefloor.

Turmalin Dub stands as a musical crystal, refracting light into deep colour and pulse; a fortress for the spirited and unconventional, an elegant tapestry of sound. The opening track weaves psychedelic hues with Balearic warmth, dubwise basslines, and whispers of slippery roots-reggae dub. Trance-inflected echoes flow together like water: from immersive ambient waves to intricate patterns and softly blurred dub techno. The release closes with Spirit, a track echoing the warmth and sway of trancehall, bridging introspective moments and the kinetic energy of a floor in motion.

Se vi siete mai chiesti cosa significhi avere una drum machine o un campionatore al posto di un pacemaker, potete sempre domandare a Valerio Del Prete aka Delphi, che da oltre un decennio mette i dancefloor a ferro e fuoco. 


Sin dagli esordi per Pigna su altezze acid house (The River/ Suzuka, 2009), il DJ e producer capitolino si è imposto per classe, gusto e tecnica, muovendosi con leggerezza nelle zone d’ombra tra house, techno, disco, boogie e italo. 


Proprio quella prima release getta il seme per il fortunato sodalizio con Marco Passarani, con cui dà vita, nell’ombra e nell’anonimato totale, al mitico progetto Tiger & Woods, spaccando in due il circuito dance con una serie di folgoranti EP e ibride performance tra live e dj set con un tasso di groove pericolosamente sopra la media. Ma questa è un’altra storia.


Di proprietà del duo è l’etichetta T&W, che ospita nel 2016 un’altra traccia solista di Delphi, Blue Tuesday: un dancefloor killer tra house, ebm e italo, un gioiello che avrebbe fatto sicuramente fortuna nei leggendari passaggi di Hot Mix 5. 


Più recenti, tra EP e singoli, le escursioni su Orchid (The Loft), Skylax (Clutch Play), Running Back (7_11 House) ancora T&W (Unleashed Tapes Vol. 3), Neturalizer (Don’t Assume) e Raibano Records (Take Me): sempre e comunque brillante e prezioso materiale dalle bassline devastanti.


Per non farsi mancare nulla, Valerio coltiva più o meno da sempre anche una certa passione per beat e campionatori (e la Roma, quasi dimenticavamo), collaborando prima con il sito di podcast sportivi Fenomeno – per cui ha curato le sigle e la serie di show dedicati a calcio e musica chiamata Trequartista – poi uscendo con due dischi (Through The Window, Face the Music) registrati in casa in tempo di lockdown: brevissime schegge di boom bap scartavetrate nei loop e nella ruggine, agili quadretti hip hop pennellati su circuiteria e personale collezione vinilica, malinconiche soundtrack per osservare il mondo, per l’appunto, attraverso il vetro della finestra. 


Un curriculum che, in effetti, non ha bisogno di tanti giri di parole. Tra club e festival, Delphi il mondo se lo è praticamente girato tutto: Panorama bar, Coachella, Fabric, Printworks, Robert Johnson, Rex, Warehouse Project, Nitsa, Razzmatazz, Lux, Goodroom, Smart Bar, Video Club, Womb, Shelter, Sónar, Primavera Sound, , FYF Fest, SMS Festival, Garden Festival, Defected Croatia Lost Village, CRSSD…

Così, giusto per dirne un paio.
