The elusive Hackney basement dweller Alpha Delta colloquially known as Alpha D drops his debut single “The Moat” as the very first 12” output on the mysterious new hybrid Berlin++Sydney based label Delphic Iris Records. The headline single inspired by a faithful rave session in Croatia where Alpha D was simultaneously emotionally touched, scarred and sonically pummelled by kick drums at a wild and stormy Dimensions Festival.

This dark techno beast was the aggressive, distorted acid offspring of that faithful night raving between the mud and tears of the crowd at the formidable Moat stage at Punta Christo. His OG Mix is classic 132bpm heavy pounding acid techno at its moodiest.

In the Remix department we have support from the entire Delphic Iris Records crew on this one. A fitting introduction to the labels sound. 

Sydney based Drox of Analog Cabin fame has a low end electro bass bin rattler for us that delves into melancholic and psychedelic 303 territory, deep, minimal and functional a perfect mid set groover in our opinion.

Critical Automator takes us on a deep and elegant techno journey transcending both murky seas and lush hazy skies in his dub mix. Definitely dialled back from the OG mix but there is no shortage of kick drum energy in this one.

16 Faces cooks up complex drum work and funk driven baselines in a hybrid 146 bpm number that’s just a touch rave, grime and idm in his 5am mix. The off beat stabs and euphoric strings are plentiful, more than enough to get your through any wobbly kneed sunrise.

En - The French-Canadian label Chez.Kito.Kat Records publishes the new album “TAPE TWO” by Luxembourg producer D.E.T. After having already released in 2015 his first album inspired by 90’s Chicago house scene and which was distributed by the legendary English distributor Lobster Theremin and published in 2022 the opus “TAPE 1” who pays homage to the 90’s UK Jungle movement and who was featured in HATE, a very rare distinction for a jungle production. 
TAPE TWO who is a psychedelic trip into 90’s electronic music scene, will be released on June 2nd, 2023 and will be available in limited audio cassette edition and digitally through our distributor UNDERSCOPE.

D.E.T. (Luxembourg) : Under his alias D.E.T. (Deep Emotional Tracks), Michael Galetto has created his own musical world, from abstract hip-hop to experimental techno and many other genres. Galetto’s recording career began in 2006 making hip-hop beats for luxembourg’s based Argentinian rapper GODIÉ and ended up making a beat for famous french rapper NEKFEU.
In 2012 he began a trip-hop project, SYNTHESIS, with singer Deborah Lehnen. Together they released two albums; HUMAN in 2013 and IN BETWEEN in 2017.
In 2015 he released his first LP “4 5 20 90” under the alias DET90, a tribute to Chicago & Detroit House Music and released three other vinyls under his label TRNST., distributed by the London based record label LOBSTER THEREMIN.
In 2018 Michael collaborated with Italian composer Edoardo Cico Inzolia and released M.E.W. (Mind Enhanced Waves) Vol.1 & 2., a musical trip influenced by early Progressive Synth Rock & Synth Wave. The duo is currently working on a Rap project.
2019 D.E.T. started to work on a double project “Tape 1” and “Tape 2” who are two album album about to be released in october 2022 and may 2023 on Chez.Kito.Kat

Bio
The pashmina is a shawl type clothing whose best use is to fashion and regulate temperature of your body. It also shares the name of a Fribourg-based duo; consisting of Vincent Gross and Nicola Marthaler. Rather than being seen as a traditional duo, they are a self-described as a support group. Supplying each other with unearthed tunes and meeting in the middle to showcase a sound derived from years of diligent music curatorship. 

Music affiliated veterans of the Fribourgean scene, their contribution are best observed within their various activities. For one, Nicola co-founded TRNSTN Radio, a broadcasting station whose identity is enthralled by being a place for creation, gatherings, experimentation and reflection. Vincent as the other, enriches the scene as a member of the committee of legendary statused Fri-Son, as well as having co-founded Ablette Records with his partner. 

The music behind this record is something of an ode to their eclectic music taste and blithe personality. Influences of proto-trance, early goa and nods to early 2000s breakbeats as familiar references that are wrapped with a contemporary twist. A departure in sound from their previous works, the focus of this release is reflective of their heterogeneous sets; psychedelic soundscapes, downtempo oddities, soaring bass lines and care-free melodies. The sonic pallet weaved together by these two music seamsters has generated the wildest harmonic reverberations. Los Pashminas, a combination of materials to make a soft, yet sturdy piece of clothing. A suitable metaphor to underline their idea of a cathartic understanding of when to push and when to let go.  An amalgamation of their domesticated exotism of obscure music, style and comfort, pseudonymised by these two characters.

In the second hour of the show, we played a recording of the first of a 4-hour b2b at the Closer Connections (@closerconnections)garden in Kyiv, Ukraine on 09/06/23. The event was hosted by Ogirky to raise money for freshwater relief for the victims of the Russian attack on Kakhovka Dam which happened earlier that week. Aaron and Beth reflect on this moment and what it was like to be in Ukraine performing at this time.

In the ethereal realm of the void there existed The Delphic Iris, a being of otherworldly power and boundless knowledge. The Iris was said to possess the ability to see into the future and hear unique and strange sounds from times and dimensions beyond our grasp. 

Legend has it that with a specific alignment of space and time, and with the mastering of secret ritual practices, The Delphic Iris can be conjured by mortal musicians to ignite and inspire their souls.

History's stark warnings tells us that summoning The Delphic Iris is fraught with danger and risks the possible collapse of our universe, for the Iris is an unstable and powerful being. However, The Delphic Iris' visions are often too tempting to resist much like a Siren's song.  

In recent years, electronic musicians Drox and 16 Faces came across the existence of the Delphic Iris through secret texts found in "the Book of Tidder" and were able to command its power for short periods of time, and so “Delphic Iris Records” was born.

Fortune has been kind to Drox and 16 Faces so far, despite the obvious risks of summoning the entity. We do not know why this is exactly, as the ceremonies are still to this day shrouded in mystery. What we do know is that we too are lucky, because now we can hear a small glimpse of what The Delphic Iris sees.

  It is up for debate as to whether The Delphic Iris’s intentions are good or evil, so listen with caution and may these sounds consume you, for the future of music looks promising, at least for now ….
