Amsterdam-based collective and imprint De Lichting releases the first solo EP from one of its members, Kaap. Known for his passion for analog gear and a signature dubby take on House and Techno, Kaap delivers three original cuts highlighting his masterclass in the studio.

'Dead On Arrival' is a multi-dimensional and skillfully executed trip that, for ten minutes, slowly unfolds each element and builds a rolling tour de force that blurs the lines between Micro House and Dub Techno. 
At first, every layer seems repetitive, but if you carefully listen to them, you'll hear a whole micro-universe happening in the background tweaked just enough never to get dull.
The main driver of the track is a rumbling bassline. However the real magic happens in the background of cosmic and drone pads that build a foundation for distant bell melody, which creates an atmosphere of well known, and here at Delayed beloved, German Micro House (think labels like Dial, Smallville, Giegling, Kann).
We are well familiar with Kaap's brilliance in the studio, and this EP proves that this incredibly talented artist has a lot to give in the coming years.

Long awaited reissue of Connective Zone's Qwerty EP. Originally released in 2002 on Emoticon, the deep electronica sister label of Headspace Recordings. Fully re-mastered for a fresh 2021 pressing.

Connective Zone, aka Lincoln-based duo Graham Sims and Simon Button, have been making their unique brand of deep techno for many years. Warm strings, thick chords, multi-layered synth melodies and crisp beats are the order of the day, with influences coming from early Detroit techno and 'artificial intelligence' era UK electronics. All four tracks pack a soulful punch, drawing from the past but allowing their individual sound to shine through. Rhythmically they range from straight-up 4/4 beats to more syncopated patterns, and are sure to find favour with more adventurous DJs as well as home listeners.

Anyone who has had even half an eye on the electro scene over the past decade will already be familiar with Emile Facey aka Plant43's unique sound, mixing an uncompromising approach to off kilter rhythms and machine-led funk with an emotive and powerful use of melody. Remote Signals' is led by a booming kick drum heavy enough to command any audience with Facey weaving ever more complex webs of melody around it. 'Searching The Skies' builds a mysterious atmosphere based around a call and response between characterful melodic elements while 'Constantly Morphing Entity' closes the EP with a flourish of forward moving beats and an SH101 bass line designed to move any dancefloor.

Luke’s choice to release on Supercinema came quite naturally: “I’m very excited for this release since the record is being realized through a new label owned by great friends who are very passionate about the music & the community it creates.”
Same thoughts came to Patrick Russell, another great US producer, when asked to deliver a remix for this EP: ‘The label has a great vision and their aesthetic/design is really something special.’

Supercinema 002 - B1 - Luke Hess - Hidden Dimension (Patrick Russell Dub Version

This track is from June 2006. I found it on a backup drive whilst searching for something else. When I made it, I soon felt something is missing, it sounded old and nostalgic too me,  a dead end, a film watched way too often. Now, I feel even more distant to it. My musical interest moved away from anything that could be labeled 'minimal techno', a genre that became mostly totally empty, uninspired and formalized. However, I like the color of this track, this reminiscence to this certain sub-genre of Chain Reaction / post Basic Channel tracks.  If I would have done it in 1995 - fantastic.
