[DREF037] Stefan Vincent - The Spaces Between Time EP

Longtime resident of the label Stefan Vincent offers up Dynamic Reflection’s 37th vinyl, a four tracker consisting of three distinct original mixes from Stefan’s own hands and a remix by the fellow Dutchmen Artefakt.

For everyone who has heard of Stefan Vincent and his music before, it’s no secret that he favors the use of melody and melancholy to bring purport to his tracks and The Spaces Between Time is no exception. While peculiar parts of sound design do their job by keeping things in motion at all times, lush pads find their counterpart in the familiar sounds of vintage drum machines that lay the foundation of these contemporary pieces of techno.

Add to that a very dreamy yet effective remix by Artefakt on the A2 and the tone is undeniably set. DREF037 is the kind of patiently evolving and expanding techno that crowds just will not get enough of, guaranteed.

Vinyl version comes with a special full color sleeve, based on a painting by Stefan Vincent himself.

Backwards Cavern was initially developed in 2021 but I kept the music to myself. The alias primarily focuses on more glitchy production but I am keeping a welcoming mind and broadening my horizons for creative freedom/expression.

The Fractured Chapel Album was a collection of works from 2020 till 2024, and was a slow progression out of my citizen maze alias - which I chose to leave behind. The album was inspired by a lot of IDM and more cinematic/tribal elements as well as some drum and bass influences.

Obtuse Swamp's third ecosystem "Reef Stage” from Berlin based producer Ilayruni dives deep into polyrhythmic slow-mo-feeling spatial sound architectures. With a remarkable evolving narrative, the EP is a constant evolution of both rhythm and spatial soundscapes. This time french producer Arsene Martinet along with London based o.utlier and Caldera give us another perspective of the very bottom of our biome. Composed of an ecosystem of the artist's own sounds, which unfold organically, “Mountain View” reveals the life of these alpine spaces. Between panoramic views, melting snow, birds chattering the pine trees and the rolling of stones, each detail places us in a different point of view.

On paths, valleys and ridges, a trail through the sounds and memories of the mountains.
