Kasra V’s unique fusion of eastern and western sounds has made him one of the most intriguing artists of the day. The Iranian has established himself with an NTS show (that is more than 100 episodes deep) and DJ sound that mixes old school UK rave with Belgian techno, acid house, trance and eastern grooves that make for spellbinding experiences. In 2018 he collaborated with Dopplerekkekt and is working on a reissue compilation series that focuses on Iranian sounds as well as original dance material.

Later this year he will play for us at Dekmantel Selectors so you can get an insight into what to expect on this week’s podcast: It’s a whirlwind hour of trance-inducing electronics. Zoned out synths are layered up over smooth rolling drums, with sci-fi references and progressive grooves lifting you ever higher. Acid flashes, retro motifs and slick mixing all make it a perfectly absorbing trip.

An uncompromising passion for a contemporary, cutting edge sound is what Cid Inc brings to electronic music. Swedish producer Henri aka Cid Inc began his journey into music production in the early 1990s. Based in his home of Sweden, and soon after relocating to Finland, Cid Inc always had an affinity for cutting edge electronics. It’s an enthusiasm that ultimately led him to electronic dance music - and more specifically, house and techno. Henri always aimed for an innovative approach to his studio work and it was that very trait that led to the birth of Mashtronic in 2004. But, it was the formation of Cid Inc in 2008 which really saw his career go into overdrive, a moniker which has seen him release on the world’s best labels, which includes Anjunadeep, Lost & Found, microCastle, Natura Sonoris and, Sudbeat. Not only is his production skill respected, but, his skills as a mastering engineer is sought after by some of the most widely regarded producers, such as Christian Smith, Pig&Dan, Guy J, and Herman Cattaneo.

In 2018 the producer had several Beatport charts success which saw him play worldwide, and in April it will be Australia’s turn for another visit when he returns exclusively for the highly anticipated Enchanted Gardens Party in Melbourne alongside D-Nox, Einmusik, and past Balance Selections compiler, Quivver.

Lee Burridge - DISTRIKT - Burning Man 2019

It’s been a while since I played DISTRIKT last. After this years experience I’m somewhat kicking myself. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a crowd at Burning Man so wild and fun. The party was electric. Fire! And, it was only Tuesday. ‘Pacing it’ was obviously out of the question for the five thousand or so that joined me. The Robot Heart bus rolled up and plugged in. Hoj tore the place up before me. Our day party extended into night and most of us left with a smile on our faces and an electricity that carried us forward. Beautiful people swung above the crowd in a birdcage (is that safe I kept asking myself in my head)and hips wiggled and swung while the multi-level dance floor bumped and bounced. Basically, best day party at Burning Man ever ever. So, thank you DISTRIKT for giving me an extended set and an amazing party to play. Let’s do it again next year. It’s a date?
