Counterpoint Recordings is happy to announce their first release in this new decade, featuring a collaboration single between two of our core artists – Molecular & Lavance.

After a few quiet months, we’re following our rebrand launch with a steady flow of quality music for the rest of the year. Starting off, we present a 2-track single from two of our outstanding inhouse talents.
Portuguese native Molecular has been on the spotlight with a steady flow of releases in labels like Delta9, Fokuz and Skankandbass. Working on his craft since a young child, he went from learning classic piano to creating enormous dirty basslines. 

For the title track he invites Belgium’s Lavance who is no stranger to our catalogue, and who also has been enjoying a highly creative streak, with music featuring on 1985 Music, Overview and his own self-released music. 

Marking the beginning of a new era for Counterpoint Recordings, this single sets the benchmark for what is to come and shines a light on the creativity inside of our core artist roster.

Side B // Molecular – They Won't

"They Won't" sees Molecular go in for a solo track which showcases some of his best skills, by delivering a perfect sonic blend of relentless bassline groove and clinical rolling percussion work – all tied up with the perfect progression. 

Nothing gets old during the track, there is always something new happening, surprising you again and again, right from the start. New sounds, new Delays, new drums, you won’t get bored listening through the whole track, as it is dressed to progress.

The percussive dynamic low end sets the tone, whilst the drum work and midrange tie everything together into a tune which is directly aimed at dancefloors worldwide.

Free From Sleep is a multi-genre collective pursuing multiple sounds from Dub to Grime to Techno to Drum & Bass and the Record label will follow this suit.

For the first release on Free From Sleep Records, Rift will join us for a 2 track showing of D&B. The London based producer delivers a deep techy track with the beautiful voice of Elle Chante overlaying it followed by a fast full on roller which is sure to get heads moving when played on the dancefloor.

Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. Since inception in 2009, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. The seventeenth and final Skankandbass Introducing release of the year comes from liquid drum & bass specialist Henry. We’re introducing two new artists to the roster; Azrah & Kidsonic - who've come together to bring you "Substrate".

Azrah, a Bristol based producer and DJ who’s sound resonates deep into forbidden realms, hijacking the inner mind through vibrations and bassline science. His influences come from the likes of Alix Perez, Enei, Break and Mefjus, although his sound isn’t solely limited to the darker sonics. Azrah finished off 2020 strongly with releases from inHabit Recordings and Deep Within Recordings, and now part of the new and innovative collective, Subconscious Audio.  He’s definitely one to watch this year

Isaiah Isaacs (A.K.A Kidsonic) started making music in 2012, due to some misfortune including the death of his grandmother and the hospitalisation of another family member. In 2016, he went on to college, where he studied and found his passion for Drum & Bass, testing the waters and learning each style to further better his craft.
He then went on to University, where he has had many opportunities including releasing on multiple record labels, including Strictly Deep DnB (Netherlands), Lost the Plot (Bristol, UK), Parallel Depth (Spain), and Forged Recordings (Sheffield, UK) just to name a few. 
He has also had support from the likes of Sam Harris, Creatures, Missledz, Alex SLK, Virul, and more. If you’re fans of the Deep, Dark, Minimal, Atmospheric and sometimes melodic sounds of artists such as Arkaik, Amoss, Bredren, Creatures, Kyrist, Enei, QZB and Ill Truth, you’re sure going to love Kidsonic.
