2017 is set to be a defining year for Addictive Behaviour. Over the past few months the label has truly found its sound and we’re dishing it out relentlessly in the months ahead with multiple parties lining up alongside some boundary pushing music. Our second release of the year sees our predominantly tech-roller outfit return to vinyl ventures with a 3 track wax EP of epic proportions, mysteriously titled ‘New Age Myths’.

First up on the release roster is the illustrious Kyrist with her cryptic tale ‘The Drifted’. Opening with some incredible atmospherics you are instantly transported to an unknown land, like a ship that’s sailed into hostile territories. The cinematic production builds momentum before fading out with a haunting crash. Suddenly, out of the void creeps an intricate drum pattern with sharp synths cutting through, catapulting us into new realms. The sound design in this track is extraordinary, switching and fluctuating with every bar, captivating to the very end.

Next in this chronicle is ‘Basilisk’. A collaboration from recent Addictive production trilogy Data 3 and relative newcomers Revaux. ‘Basilisk’ entices you in with eerie vibes. A trickle of rasping hats and shuffles alongside airy pads swimming under the filtered surface. Then a human like cry fades out to introduce fierce bass and kick drums as this monster rears its heavy head. The track pulsates along with ferocity, the rhythm constantly flowing. You’ll find it hard not to give this roller the old D&B head nod. It’s sure to be shaking the foundations of dance floors over the coming months.

The final chapter is told by Mystic State featuring the gritty talents of MC Tension on the mic. ‘Blurred Vision’ creeps in slow and stealth-like before chopping in a heavy kick-snare beat. Then it’s over to the sharp tongued Tension to give it that murky vocal lick. “It’s action re-action, reload the ammo to obtain satisfaction” And satisfaction is bang on the money here, as we drop in to subby, gravelly basslines and hard edged drums that will make you want to reload this one for another dose of pure fire. Hard hitting expertly crafted D&B, the perfect fix for any addict.

The New Age Myths EP is a musical chronology that sounds like it’s been sent straight from the future. It brings together a pedigree of young talent, all of which are destined to become big in the game. To celebrate this joint effort release, we’re throwing a launch party for the EP on Good Friday. Invadhertz hail from a destination that specialises in the same dark and heavy music as they themselves do; Italy is celebrated for its moody club spaces and hard-hitting sounds and this is where Invadhertz drew their inspiration from. Now finding their place within the London scene, they’ve been building their place within its trenches and from here they’re about to unleash yet another groundbreaking EP. Having already released on the likes of Addictive Behaviour, Flexout Audio and Context Audio, they return to the back catalogue of Delta9 Recordings for four tracks of chaotic sonics. Bringing a host of collaborative artists into the fray, their next EP on Delta9 Recordings pedestals the outfits’ expert talents as well as proves why the label is a respected figure within the independent drum & bass market.

‘Pandemonium’ is your enticement, with patches of rolling, ominous percussion and a painstakingly engineered sound design. It steps through the mix with each meticulously constructed sixteen bar, becoming more and more overwhelming as it breaks and you’re driven through every intricate layer. Flipz MC joins Invadhertz for ‘In the Area’, with its stepping drum rhythms and gritty vocal overtures. You’re taken directly into the track’s more dancefloor edge; it’s a sure-fire way to get any party vibe going whilst also still adhering to the inherently underground vibe which Invadhertz have at their disposal.

Qua Rush is the next artists who jumps on board with Invadhertz for ‘Damn’, a brooding record which becomes more intense as it plays out, with each punching beat and weighty sub roll. Both Qua Rush and Invadhertz know how to create a track which is thumping, tech-filled and packs a punch with every layer. ‘Anxiety VIP’ twists the original on its head; whilst it’s already a well-loved tune, Invadhertz adds a welcome dimension to its predecessor, one which flexes its pulsing detail.

Delta9 Recordings once again platforms the creativity which can be found across both its hometowns, in Berlin and Bergamo. Their focus on the minimalistic, techstep sound has proven fruitful, especially when considering the artists they’ve brought on board for their decorated roster. And that’s why Invadhertz have proven their might on the imprint, especially through their forthcoming ‘Pandemonium’ EP.
