Now firmly cemented as one of the staple tracks in the Dirtyphonics discography, “Hanging On Me” made headlines earlier in 2013 for its huge dubstep sound. Now a number of versatile artists have lent their hands to remix this dancefloor devastator into wholly different creations.
 
Borgore and Ookay teamed up for their remix of “Hanging On Me”, bringing together two different genres into one tight package. The first drop in this track leans on devastating hardstyle sounds with its snapping kicks. The second drop however will surely leave crowds surprised, as it breaks into a full trap workout. The Kastle remix goes into a polar opposite direction. Pulling off the fresh new remixed sound seamlessly, the Kastle remix is proper 2-step garage. This track fits perfectly into club sets, with its warm lead sounds and triplet sections, all whilst keeping Liela Moss’s vocals intact. Finally, the Slogun & Ioh remix turns “Hanging On Me” into the drum & bass we know and love. A sizable reworking of the original track’s synths turns this remix into a break-beaten killer track for the D&B massive.

Dirtyphonics continues to pump the bass-driven electro beats with the release of a diverse 4-track remix compilation of their most recent EP, Write Your Future. Preserving Dirtyphonics’ iconic bass driven / drum and bass sound, the remixers prove that genres truly have no boundaries by adding their own touch to each of the original tracks. FuntCase amplifies the punk rock guitar riffs and angsty drumline of “Power Now” by adding wild build-ups that break down into heavy, hard-hitting dubstep. Habstrakt gives “Hustle Hard” the future bass treatment, adding a distinctive 4/4 twist to the original trap banger. High Maintenance makes full use of the powerful female vocals in “Free Fall” but converts the original's dubstep drops into a vision of perfect drum and bass. Finally, Infuze concludes the EP with a future bass rendition of “Since You’ve Been Gone,” slowing the original’s drum and bass tempo with anthemic synths and heavy drums.

Bratislava-based L Plus has proved over a string of heavy-duty releases that Slovakians can do D&B too. His most recent offering, the “Amazing” EP firmly established him as a major asset to the scene with an ear for the classic elements of rave music, and an uncanny talent for building an atmospheric soundscape.

And now, he's flexing those skills again in this release.

“Faces” is a perfect example of what is fast-becoming the signature L Plus style. Arpeggiated keys and gentle melodic patterns lead into a speeded-up vocal sample which harks back to nineties lighters-in-the-air moments. And then, just like rave music in the early nineties, it all goes hardcore, building into a drop that delivers powerful bass and digital bleep-riffs. Even with the madness that ensues, L Plus never loses sight of the melodic underpinning of the track, creating a monster that reintroduces the power of early raving for modern parties. And, just in case you want to ease your audience in to this sound more gently, he provides a Radio Edit to educate the mainstream.

The other track on this release is “Heavy Mental”. This is a masterclass in building and releasing tension. The intro rises and rises, using wide pads punctuated by percussive stabs to signpost things to come. Then a further lift is provided by a ladder of chords which leads straight into an explosive drop that throws a wall of energy in your face. Interplay between high and low end, melody combined with aggression, all contribute towards a tune that's a guaranteed dancefloor filler.

So, L Plus has brought his special brand of twenty-first century rave music back for another outing. “Faces” and “Heavy Mental” are tunes that will grace the sets of history-literate DJs everywhere.
