DETOURNEY is an Undertale AU based on and set in an alternate timeline of Escape from the Dark World in which the tournament never continued past WR2.

Lancer begins to have second thoughts about humoring the Lightners, and calls off the tournament. With no hope of them returning to their home worlds, they spread out across the Dark World and find a place to call their own. Barney has a premonition of what will happen if this imbalance between light and dark persists, and brings it upon himself to get the gang back together.

K. Round is the Mad Dummy replacement. This long-legged checker remains one of the strongest athletes in the Great Board, training to one day fight in a battle it feels it was denied the right to. When Barney makes one wrong turn onto its end of the board, it sprouts up and decides this is the moment it was waiting to go all out for.
